The lab of Professor Amanda Schmidt uses fallout radionuclides and geographic information systems data to determine the effects of human land use change on erosion and sediment sourcing within watersheds.
Amber Nawolski took members of the Valdosta State University Learning in Retirement on a tour of the new Valdosta-Lowndes Regional Crime Lab. Attendees saw how evidence is collected and processed, and learned about new equipment and techniques that are used to solve crimes in the area.
mui Lab draws upon its “Calm Technology & Design” principles and engineering expertise to enable peaceful digital living in which technology performs in a perfect harmony with humans. We envision the technology of the future as one that make people happier by further bringing out the humanness of human life.
Das Kids Create Lab möchte Kindern eine Möglichkeit geben, sich spielerisch mit Technik auseinanderzusetzen. Dazu werden sowohl im Rahmen des Schul-Wahlpflichtunterrichtes als auch außerhalb der Schule kreative Workshops angeboten. Einer dieser Workshops fand am 18. Juni 2016 in Berlin in der Agentur der Urbn Pockets in der Linienstraße statt und der Code Week Award war live dabei!
Die 9 Teilnehmerinnen im Alter von 6 bis 10 Jahren gestalteten verschiedene interaktive Projekte mit leitfähiger Farbe sowie dem Bare Conductive Microcontroller und waren mit Feuereifer am Lernen, Basteln und Geräusche Aufnehmen. Am Ende des Workshops konnten wir die entstandenen Projekte, diverse Boomboxen und sprechende Poster, ausgiebig austesten.
Im Rahmen des GIS Day 2016 in Salzburg wurde das IDEAS:Lab des Interfakultären Fachbereichs für Geoinformatik eröffnet.
Das iDEAS:lab wird Schülern, Studierenden, Forschern, Projektpartnern aus Universitäten und Wirtschaft ebenso wie der allgemeinen Öffentlichkeit zur Verfügung stehen, um geoinformatische Technologien kennenzulernen und Geomedien-Kompetenz als Grundlage für die Digitalisierung der räumlichen Dimension unserer Lebenswelten aufzubauen.

The FOUNDING LAB is a collaborative effort between the Institute of Digital Sciences Austria (IDSA) and Ars Electronica. Its aim is to identify, develop, and present new areas, approaches, and formats that address the challenges of digital transformation. By overcoming disciplinary boundaries, it confronts the contradictory and conflicting realities of today and cultivates the skills to navigate an increasingly digital world.

Lab 12 (former BSK 34505) was converted in 1972 and used for acoustic tests. It also saw use with the pre-APT development "POP" train. It was scrapped in 1996.
