we got a good belly laugh out of this Mobile Press-Register headline: man charged in math lab explosion

The new installation (at the time of our visit in Oct 2011) above Noma's dining room that's dedicated to the team's continued pursuit of knowledge.
Designed by GXB (of Copenhagnen's 3XN), the room is composed of four central multi-functional storage units; each with over 500 storage cubes. The seamless modular units themselves echo the restaurant's approach to food; the appearance is solid, minimalistic clean and in some cases with flourishes that were subtle, flushed but modern day elegant. Huge contrast to the eighteenth-century warehouse building that the restaurant is situated in.
I just loved the ample storage space, the meticulous and neat storage of so many key products and resources available at the fingertips. Any kitchen or science lab would be envious of this customized space. I was literally drooling.

The #CCLNRB
The CCLNRB is a joint project by Goethe-Institut Nairobi, Motion Bank and NODE Forum for Digital Arts, Frankfurt.
Eight Kenyan and German artists are commissioned to create a project evolving around the them of „Designing Hope“ with their very different artistic means: choreography, the voice, composition, vr-technology or other digital art practices.
#CCLNRB artists are Melisa Allela, Benjamin van Bebber, Amelie Hinrichsen, Leo Hofmann, Alacoque Ntome, Awuor Onyango, Jared Onyango and Else Tunemyr.
The artists are discussing “hope” as a usually positively perceived yet ambiguous concept: Is a state of hope actually encouraging? What is the difference between hope and optimism? Doesn't hope always come with anxiety? And what is the role of technology in the shaping of social imaginaries?
In their interdisciplinary constellation the #CCLNRB members investigated different cultural fields that provide or make use of hope as a means and medium: from pop-music to religion, from commercial advertisement to the promises of technological innovation for development. During the presentation the group will showcase alternative concepts or settings for rethinking the quality of hope, ideas on utopia and dystopia.
In June 2017, the artists will meet for further two weeks to continue the collaboration in Frankfurt, Germany. The final result will be premiered at the German festival NODE17 Forum for Digital Arts in Frankfurt (Main) at Mousonturm and Naxoshalle Given future fundings, we will bring back the final project to Kenya in November 2017 to NFPMA (Nairobi Festival of Performance and Media Arts).
#CCLNRB has also been supported by Technical University of Kenya.

Pyometra = Pus filled Uterus
This is my interesting case of the week.
The lab presented on Monday with a complaint of not eating, lethargic for the past week. WBC count was sky high.
Being intact female, and in heat a month ago, I was suspicious of an uterine infection.
Both the body and horns of the uterus were full of pus.
In a normal 50 lbs. female dog, the uterine horns would be about as big around a your finger, maybe 2 finders. Not the size of your forearm.
in a few days when my head is clear again i'll probabaly realize as you already have that this was a dumb idea.
this is part of a series of images i decided to upload because i like the way these look. back in the days when i worked at the photo lab had a collection going of rejected images. Not actual photos of course, but of the ends of the film rolls. everyone whose had the WHOLE roll printed knows what I mean; sometimes there's light leakage onto the film from when it was loaded into the camera, sometimes there's tape attached to the end, depending on the kind of film. These and other factores can create weird and interesting effects that I always really liked. So here's a few of the ones I liked most.

There's been a mixup while processing my film, it seems as if they processed it at the same time with an other customer's film.. You can see the overlapping frames. very odd. The light leaks have an other cause, I've opened up the back of my camera before fully rewinding the film.
