On some of the lists of the seven wonders of the world the Taj Mahal is indeed an epic place but probably the most memorable part of the experience for me was the trip from Delhi to Agra. Since I was in India for work I didn't have a lot of time so a colleague and I blocked out a "decompression" day to go from Delhi and Agra and back. But what we didn't realize is that at this time of the year the night and early morning are completely choked with fog - think dense impenetrable fog! Needless to say it was a harrowing drive. The driver we hired originally tried to talk us out of leaving at 4am but we wanted a shot at the morning light - lets just say it was a drive I will never forget. In the end we made it and enjoyed our visit and got some decent light and were able to take a few shots without a ton of people.

Uhu (Bubo bubo) - Eurasian eagle-owl

Eurasian eagle-owl

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurasian_eagle-owl

The Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) is a species of eagle-owl that resides in much of Eurasia. It is also called the European eagle-owl and in Europe, it is occasionally abbreviated to just eagle-owl.[3] It is one of the largest species of owl, and females can grow to a total length of 75 cm (30 in), with a wingspan of 188 cm (6 ft 2 in), males being slightly smaller.[4] This bird has distinctive ear tufts, with upper parts that are mottled with darker blackish colouring and tawny. The wings and tail are barred. The underparts are a variably hued buff, streaked with darker colour. The facial disc is not very visible and the orange eyes are distinctive.

The Eurasian eagle-owl is one of the largest living species of owl as well as one of the most widely distributed.[5] The Eurasian eagle-owl is found in many habitats but is mostly a bird of mountain regions, coniferous forests, steppes and other relatively remote places. It is a mostly nocturnal predator, hunting for a range of different prey species, predominantly small mammals but also birds of varying sizes, reptiles, amphibians, fish, large insects and other assorted invertebrates. It typically breeds on cliff ledges, in gullies, among rocks or in other concealed locations. The nest is a scrape in which averages of two eggs are laid at intervals. These hatch at different times. The female incubates the eggs and broods the young, and the male provides food for her and, when they hatch, for the nestlings as well. Continuing parental care for the young is provided by both adults for about five months.[6] There are at least a dozen subspecies of Eurasian eagle-owl.[7]

With a total range in Europe and Asia of about 32 million square kilometres (12 million square miles) and a total population estimated to be between 250 thousand and 2.5 million, the IUCN lists the bird's conservation status as being of "least concern".[8] The vast majority of eagle-owls live in mainland Europe, Russia and Central Asia, and an estimated number of between 12 and 40 pairs are thought to reside in the United Kingdom as of 2016, a number which may be on the rise.[9] Tame eagle-owls have occasionally been used in pest control because of their size to deter large birds such as gulls from nesting.

Taken in January in Krakow, Poland.

Krakow is a very charming old town in Poland, and my hometown. Some of my American friends say it's as beautiful as Prague.

The main square of the Old Town of Kraków, Lesser Poland, is the principal urban space located at the center of the city. It dates back to the 13th century, and at roughly 40,000 m2 (430,000 ft2) is one of the largest medieval town squares in Europe.

The Project for Public Spaces (PPS) lists the square as the best public space in Europe due to its lively street life.

UNESCO: Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage 2012

"No matter how we may dread the rush, the long Christmas lists for gifts and cards to be bought and given – when Christmas Day comes there is still the same warm feeling we had as children..." - Joan Winmill Brown (British actress and writer).

The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 12th of December is "dice". Now, I am no taker of risks, nor fan of gambling, so dice are few and far between in my household. However I do have one small Eighteenth Century ivory set of dice. They are tiny - so small in fact that this week, I have decided to place them with two of my 1:12 miniature Christmas presents, keeping up my Christmas theme in my photostream for the month of December. The dice and brightly wrapped Christmas gifts are set against a background of my 1870s edition board of "Jeu de l'Oie" (Game of the Goose). I hope you like my choice for this week's theme, and that it makes you smile!

The "Game of the Goose", also known as the "Royal Game of the Goose", is one of the first board games to be commercially manufactured. It is a race game that relies only on dice throws to dictate progression of the players. The board is often arranged in the form of a spiral, with game pieces starting on the most outward part. All spaces on the game board are numbered, with some depicting an illustration of either a goose or a hazard indicating a specified action. The aim of the game is to reach the 63rd space before any of the other players, while avoiding hazards such as the Hotel, the Bridge, and Death. The game is thought to have originated in Italy during the Fifteenth Century, being given by Francesco de Medici as a gift to King Philip of Spain. In the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century, the game gained immense popularity throughout Europe. The game's popularity led it to different adaptations throughout Europe and the United States. Despite numerous adaptations, the rules have mostly remained the same throughout the years.

These Christmas presents are 1:12 artisan pieces. They were hand made by husband and wife artistic team Margie and Mike Balough who own Serendipity Miniatures in Newcomerstown, Ohio.

South America

YESTERDAY WAS WORLD WILDLIFE DAY.

The rufescent tiger heron (Tigrisoma lineatum) is a species of heron in the family Ardeidae. It is found in wetlands from Central America through much of South America.

The rufescent tiger heron is found in wetlands from Central America through much of South America. It generally occurs below 500 m (1,600 ft), though it has been recorded as high as 1,600 m (5,200 ft) in Colombia.

It is largely crepuscular and generally solitary.

As might be expected of a species that spends most of its time by the water, much of the rufescent tiger heron's diet is aquatic-based, including fish, crustaceans, water beetles and dragonfly larvae. It also takes adult dragonflies and grasshoppers. It typically hunts alone, standing hunched in shallow pools or wet areas of forest while it waits for prey.

The rufescent tiger heron's main call is a low-pitched paired hoot, often given at night. It also gives a fast series of sharp wok notes, which decrease in volume and speed, and a prolonged hoot, transcribed as ooooooo-ooh which rises markedly at the end.

Although the rufescent tiger heron's population size and trend has not been quantified, its range is huge, so the International Union for the Conservation of Nature lists it as a species of least concern. – Wikipedia

A powerful migratory Falcon from Central Europe / Mongolia to the Western parts of India. This is a partial migrant - meaning some part of the population is migrant. They are irregular and extremely rare visitors to India and per our guide, the last sighting was 2 years ago. This is much bigger than a peregrine Falcon and bulkier too.

This is the second fastest bird in level flight and we saw it hunting in the scrubalnds and even fighting with another falcon (Laggar Falcon). The bird hunts smaller insects, birds and mostly the desert rodents known as Jird locally or Jerbill in English - these rodents are present in good numbers in the desert.

The IUCN status of this bird is sadly endangered and ebird lists the status as sensitive. The bird is quite popular in wild life trade especially in Middle East.

Many thanks in advance for your views, faves and feedback - very much appreciated.

Borneo

They can leap distances of up to 5 metres from tree to tree.

They are capable of swimming 20 meters underwater.

IUCN lists proboscis monkeys as Endangered.

Rework of a popular Flickr picture of mine: Moonlight Walking in Marsh. This version is softer and more colorful. Based on an actual photograph I took in the Parker River Wildlife Refuge in Newburyport Massachusetts. But it didn't look like this except in my imagination.

The horrible Flickr map program lists it as Pine Island, but it's really Plum Island.

eBird now lists Hoodies in the Bay Area as rare and I got two! Awesome!

There are such subtle differences between these two males. There is more scalloping on the scapulars on this bird. Try saying that one fast. :)

Just posting for my own record of sightings.

This is Hoodie #2 that so far I have only seen on this day.

A kind of a replica of the Bridge of Sighs

"The bridge links together the Old and New Quadrangles of Hertford College (to the south and the north respectively), and much of its current architecture was designed by Sir Thomas Jackson. It was completed in 1914, despite its construction being opposed by New College.

The building on the southern side of the bridge houses the college's administrative offices, whereas the northern building is mostly student accommodation. The bridge is always open to members of the college, who can often be seen crossing it. The bridge is Grade II listed. The Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission lists buildings in England and Wales under three grades. Grade II buildings are of special interest." (Wikipedia)

The lists you mentioned haven't disappeared. The links have been relocated. They are now located on the main heading that appears on every page. Presumably, you know that you have to click the Flickr logo (top left (on every page) to access the new Activity Feed which has replaced 'People'. ID: haunted-house-3357

We accidentally came upon this house during a "Sunday, let's get lost" drive in southwestern New Hampshire. The house was built in 1887 and sits on an old country dirt road a mile from their nearest neighbor on 122 acres. It lists for 1.1 million currently but sold for 385,000 USD back in 2016. It looks fantastically spooky and haunted, even in the day time. How could we not take a picture?

“As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations, compounded by December’s bad weather, it is good to be reminded that there are people in our lives who are worth this aggravation, and people to whom we are worth the same.” – Donald E. Westlake

The next Pollinator week entry is this Lemon beebalm (Monarda citriodora), or sometimes Lemon mint or Horsemint flower that has attracted a Bumble bee. There are several "Bumble" bee varieties and I can't identify this one. The crushed leaves smell of lemon.

Each year we add more plants to the garden from a native only nursery, "Ozark Soul." The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower plant database lists the Lemon beebalm as native to MO, but to the prairie but not the Ozark Plateau. There are three Monarda species native to MO.

Great Carolus Linnaeus in 1753 lists this plant with large leaves and small flowers from the central Americas as Commelina zanonia. Later again it was renamed to its present moniker. Linnaues, though, - careful scientist that he was - pointed out that it had first been described by that fine botanist Charles Plumier (1646-1704) under the name Zanonia graminea. Plumier in 1703 waxes eloquent on the merits of the botanical scholar for whom he had named it: Giacomo Zanoni (1615-1682). Besides, he publishes a fine engraving of the flowers (see inset).

A relatively new feature of ANZAC Square in Brisbane is this metal "mesh" wall on the city hall side of the square that features the names of every town and suburb in Queensland from which came servicemen of WWI and WWII . The note below explains its origins in more detail. It appears to be in total random order so good luck finding your place! It's a fabulous idea!

"Three paths enter Anzac Square from Elizabeth Street, each one dedicated to a branch of the Australian Armed Forces. These are arranged with the Army path in the centre, Air Force to the south east and Navy to the south.

Flanking these pathways and distributed throughout the park are several trees and plants. In addition to the shade they provide, these trees were planted to commemorate Queensland Light Horse units (bottle trees), service in the Middle East (palms), Gallipoli (rosemary) and peace (Bribie Island pines). Where the three paths conjoin there are two tiled pools, whose reflective nature symbolises tranquillity and new life.

The parklands are surrounded by a wall of bronze lettering, which lists 2,075 towns and suburbs from which Queensland servicemen in WWI and II originated."

We will remember them!

Wikipedia lists 38 granite domes that can be found in Yosemite National Park. This one is called Lembert Dome, named for Jean Baptiste Lembert, who homesteaded nearby in 1865. It towers about 800' (244m) above Tuolomne Meadows, a small portion of which is seen in the foreground. There's a hike to the top that starts from the back, and rock climbers challenge it from this side.

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's Wendesday :) Tonight I get to go look at phones that have internet cuz this sluggish crap is killing me. Taken in our garden last year.

Fuchsia /ˈfjuːʃə/ FEW-shə is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees. The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola (present-day Dominican Republic and Haiti) about 1696–1697 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier, during his third expedition to the Greater Antilles. He named the new genus after the renowned German botanist Leonhart Fuchs (1501–1566).

Almost 110 species of Fuchsia are recognized; the vast majority are native to South America, but a few occur north through Central America to Mexico, and also several from New Zealand to Tahiti. One species, F. magellanica, extends as far as the southern tip of South America, occurring on Tierra del Fuego in the cool temperate zone, but the majority are tropical or subtropical. Most fuchsias are shrubs from 0.2 to 4 m (8 in to 13 ft 1 in) tall, but one New Zealand species, the kōtukutuku (F. excorticata), is unusual in the genus in being a tree, growing up to 12–15 m (39–49 ft) tall.

Fuchsia leaves are opposite or in whorls of three to five, simple lanceolate, and usually have serrated margins (entire in some species), 1–25 cm long, and can be either deciduous or evergreen, depending on the species. The flowers are very decorative; they have a pendulous "teardrop" shape and are displayed in profusion throughout the summer and autumn, and all year in tropical species. They have four long, slender sepals and four shorter, broader petals; in many species, the sepals are bright red and the petals purple (colours that attract the hummingbirds that pollinate them), but the colours can vary from white to dark red, purple-blue, and orange. A few have yellowish tones. The ovary is inferior and the fruit is a small (5–25 mm) dark reddish green, deep red, or deep purple berry, containing numerous very small seeds.

The fruit of all fuchsia species and cultivars is edible, with the berry of F. splendens reportedly among the best-tasting. Its flavor is reminiscent of citrus and black pepper, and it can be made into jam. The fruits of some other fuchsias are flavorless or leave a bad aftertaste.

The majority of Fuchsia species are native to Central and South America. A small additional number are found on Hispaniola (two species), in New Zealand (three species) and on Tahiti (one species). Philip A. Munz in his A Revision of the Genus Fuchsia classified the genus into seven sections of 100 species. More recent scientific publications, especially those by the botanists Dennis E. Breedlove of the University of California and, currently, Paul E. Berry of the University of Michigan, recognize 108 species and 122 taxa, organized into 12 sections. In New Zealand and Tahiti, section Skinnera now consists of only three species as F. × colensoi has been determined to be a naturally occurring hybrid between F. excorticata and F. perscandens. Also, F. procumbens has been placed into its own section, Procumbentes. Two other new sections are Pachyrrhiza and Verrucosa, each with one species. The Plant List, a cooperative endeavor by several leading botanical institutions to maintain a working list of all plant species, lists most currently accepted Fuchsia species and synonyms.

The vast majority of garden hybrids have descended from a few parent species. For further information please visit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuchsia

So the first SD40 that Canon sent for review was faulty. For some odd reason, the camera would load up a blank screen instead of showing me what I wanted to photograph. Getting Spammed by Evan Williams

I was at SXSW interactive when I met Evan Williams (co-founder of blogger), at the time, he still owned Blogger (I believe). We were both at the 20x2 event and was introduced real briefly by Ernie of Little.Yellow.Different. It was one of those moments where you meet someone you have admired for the first time, but really have nothing to say. I had my picture taken with him and then I pretty much fell off his radar until today, or so I thought. This morning while checking out my pj.ca account I quickly scanned the listing of newly arrived emails, among the names of obvious spammers was the name Evan Williams, with the subject line "Hi". Of course I was curious and surprised, so I opened the email right away. Of course the email was spam trying to sell me software programs like MS Windows XP Professional with SP2, Adobe Photoshop CS2 V 9.0, Microsoft Office XP Professional and 300 plus more titles. I'd been had. But I guess it means you've made it big when spammers start using your name in the sender field of emails. Thanks for the email Evan, even if it wasn't really from you.

Gay Bloggies

I found out about this last week, but was reminded about it today. The list of finalist for the Gay Bloggies have been announced and voting is currently underway. You still have till November 10th to vote for your favorites. Who knew there were so many to chose from. Obviously I've been out of the proverbial loop for quite some time, as most of the names I used to follow are not on the list. Toronto's own 2xy has been nominated in the Best Canadian Category, Ernie has been nominated in the Best Asian category and long time favorite Jockohomo has been nominated in the Best Writing category. Good luck fellas. What I find really interesting is the fact that there is a Best Body and Best Exhibitionist category. Can you hear my mouse clicking from there?

The Winter of Cleaning House

Piles. That's my current filing system. It's pitiful. I think I requested this before, but perhaps I will try again. I need a program that will take care of everything. Contacts, Dates, Projects, To-do lists... etc etc etc.. Definitely something for a Mac and something affordable. It's a surprise that I don't forget more things more often. Needless to say, I'm a tad behind, especially on emails. Perhaps I should move back to the old fashion way of doing things, on paper in a daytimer.

The 1 millionth visitor giveaway.

So lately I have been paying close attention to the little sitemeter on the sidebar. Last week, we officially hit 900,000 visits (which includes just over 2 years of stats). That means the 1 million mark is just around the corner. Realistically, that means will hit it by February or March, but hey we are hoping, that by some miracle will hit the target before the end of year. In celebration we will be doing a ton of giveaways over the next few months. (We are also taking donations on cool stuff to giveaway). More details on this either later this week or first thing Monday Morning.

TV Week Logie Nominations In Sydney, Australia; News And Lists

Tonight in Sydney, Australia it's the TV Week Logies Nominations.

Karl Stefanovic is battling to snatch back-to-back Gold Logies after nominations for the TV Week industry awards were announced today.

After surprising many media and entertainment commentators including this agency by snatching the major prize last year, the Channel 9 Today co-host got both a Silver and Gold for most popular presenter on Australian TV.

Karl will fight the ABC's Adam Hills, Offspring star Asher Keddie, The Project co-host Carrie Bickmore, ex Home & Away siren Esther Anderson and Nine comedian presenter Hamish Blake for the top honours when the TV Week Logies are awarded on April 15.

Channel 7 leads the network pack, with 32 nominations across 22 categories, followed by Ten (26 nominations), the ABC (22 nominations), Nine (21 nominations), pay TV operator Foxtel (eight nominations) and SBS (seven nominations).

While Packed To The Rafters favourite Rebecca Gibney was overlooked for a Gold Logie nod this year, she is squared off against her TV daughter Jessica Marais for Silver as most popular actress.

Also in the running for Silver was Asher Keddie, acknowledged for her double effort - playing Nina Proudman on Ten's romantic comedy, Offspring, and publishing maverick Ita Buttrose in the ABC1 docu-drama, Paper Giants: The Birth Of Cleo.

Making their Silver Logie nomination debut are Danielle Cormack (Kate Leigh in Nine's Underbelly Razor) and Esther Anderson (Charlie Buckton on Seven's soap Home & Away).

In the TV fight for the boys, the Silver Logie for most popular actor will be fought between Daniel MacPherson (Wild Boys, Channel 7), Eddie Perfect (Offspring, Ten), Erik Thomson (Packed To The Rafters, Channel 7), Hugh Sheridan (Packed To The Rafters, Channel 7) and Ray Meagher (Home & Away, Channel 7).

Despite turning her back on a TV career for a spot on Melbourne breakfast radio this year, Chrissie Swan secured a nomination as most popular presenter for her role on Ten's morning chat show, The Circle.

The nominations were held at Sydney's Park Hyatt, hosted by Nine's Natalie Gruzlewski and Ten's Bondi Vet, Chris Brown.

01. I read in another one of these lists that the person was amused by people who refuse to use Photoshop etc. I have to say that I'm totally in agreement. Photoshop and it's ilk are merely digital versions of old film techniques that photographers have used since forever. Just take a look at Man Ray's photos and tell me that they're not post-processed.

02. That being said... I dislike the whole process of editing my photos and I try to keep it to a bare minimum. I'd rather be out taking photos or looking at other's photos on flickr!

03. I also dislike getting up early for dawn photos. Even though I know it's going to be the best light, I dread doing it. I'm a night-owl actually and that's why I like to experiment with night photography.

04. After getting my first L Series lens I am now addicted to them. I can't bear to use my old lenses any more haha.

05. Some of the first people to show a real interest in my photos at flickr were stooblack, mags_Tag and nottooshabby. To them I will be eternally grateful and they have a special place in my heart. Now I have lots of great flickr friends just like you too!

06. I love going and taking photos with my friends. My host in Melbourne, Frank is a wonderful photography partner. I've also had the good fortune to meet and go on little photo excursions with Mouzhik, kierobau and nottooshabby.

07. My favourite photographic accessory is my Canon RC1 wireless remote. I would be lost without it. "Lost" is an appropriate word, because I have managed to lose this little beauty on several occasions, but fortunately have been able to find it eventually.

08. My favourite filter is my Cokin Graduated ND8 Filter. It's saved me from many a blown out sky in my landscape shots.

09. My favourite old school photographer is Man Ray. My favourite modern photographer is Peter Lik.

10. I love learning new photographic techniques and experimenting with them. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

11. My next big photographic adventure will be in March if all goes to plan. Den and I are planning to go to Japan for a couple of weeks and hopefully the cherry blossoms will be in bloom.

12. I'm eternally grateful to my partner Dennis for being my general packhorse when he comes taking photos with me. I've almost got him trained to know all the lenses haha. He's very patient too.

13. My current photographic obsession is portraiture. It's hard to find people to be your model as you go through the learning process though.

14. That's one of the reasons I started this 365 Project, so that I could practice on myself and try different techniques.

15. Phew, nearly there... Until photography took over my life, I used to be a real computer geek. I read all the magazines etc. Now all I read about is photography!

16. Finally... I'm going to use this opportunity to tag Mouzhik! Yay, I'm finished.

let me live that fantasy

heart to heart, seasons apart, such is our long distance friendship<3

I leave this coming Monday for Italy, stopping in France for some pictures and sight seeing first. Then off to Rapallo ,Genova, Milan, Pisa and then Cagliari Sardegna, So much left to do still..................my lists just seem to grow , while the time is counting down!

I had so much fun collaborating with my sis Kalli , of course I was late in completing mine lol

I like lists. Recently I've seen a few "X number of things I want to do before turning X" lists and liked the idea of them. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and the list took ages to sort out but finally, here it is. I'm not turning 30 but I like round numbers.

01. Celebrate my birthday with a cupcake and a candle.

02. Go ten-pin bowling.

03. Grab lunch at the Bratwurst Shop and American Doughnut Van.

04. Begin a photo project.

05. Fall in love with two new records/artists.

06. Go on a photo safari every couple months.

07. Send handwritten things in the post.

08. Catch a train to somewhere new.

The fortified evangelical church of Cincșor was built in the 14th century.

The settlement was first documented in 1377 in the papal tax lists (Rudbertus de Parvo Promotorio), the second mention being in 1434 when it appeared under the name of "Kyssenk". During the following centuries, Cincșor became a real bastion on the route of the Olt on the path of the migratory peoples, the Turks and the Tatars. The fortified church dates from this first period.

The church with a tower to the west was erected between 1421 and 1427 and dedicated to the "holy apostles Peter and Paul". In the middle of the 15th century, the first enclosure was erected and a defense floor was added above the choir. The fortified church of Cincșor is one of the best preserved churches in Transylvania, the changes that have taken place over the centuries are minimal.

The church organ was brought by Samuel Matz Birthalm and is dated 1805. The Cincșor organ is one of the most famous church organs in Transylvania. In the bell tower, there are two bells, a large one dating from 1937 and an average dating from 1644.

The famous Transylvanian painter Carl Dörschlag painted the current altar in 1868. The old altar of the triptych is located in the country's museum in Făgăraș

In 2011, the village community of Saxon origin had only 22 inhabitants.

NEW CHAPTER, MY FRIENDS (30.06.2010): After removing my website link (more than 1,000), I´ve just received the same message and I´m out of the search lists again. Or this has relation with the message above or has no sense...

I´m not allowed by Flickr to link my personal website.... amazing....! After so many years... Maybe it´s a consequence of the Israel message, I don´t want to think bad, but I don´t believe in coincidences, moreover when lots of user are allowed to. If I continue here is because the great number of friends I´ve meet, but I´m taking advantage of this in order to complain and let you see the kind of injustice that Flickr is doing these days. Let´s see who can be more annoying...

Birmingham University, England

The Joseph Chamberlain Memorial Clock Tower, or simply Old Joe, is a clock tower and campanile located in Chancellor's court at the University of Birmingham, in the suburb of Edgbaston.

It is the tallest free-standing clock tower in the world, although its actual height is the subject of some confusion. The university lists it as both 110 metres (361 ft) and 99 metres (325 ft) tall, whereas other sources state that it is 100 metres (328 ft) tall.

The tower was built to commemorate Joseph Chamberlain, the first Chancellor of the University (with the commemoration being carved into the stone at the tower's base), although one of the original suggested names for the clock tower was the 'Poynting Tower', after one of the earliest professors at the University, Professor John Henry Poynting.

The nicknames Old Joe, or simply The Clock Tower are used by the student population and local residents.

A prominent landmark in Birmingham, the grade II listed tower can be seen for miles around the campus, and has become synonymous with the University itself. There is a superstition, taken seriously amongst some students of the University, that if they walk through the tower's archway when it chimes, they will fail their degree.

St. Mary's Basilica

Bazylika Mariacka

St. Mary's Church, or formally the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is a Brick Gothic Roman Catholic church located in central Gdańsk, Poland. With its volume between 185,000 m³ and 190,000 m³ it is currently one of the two or three largest brick churches in the world. Wikipedia

Rynek Główny

The main square (Rynek Główny) of the Old Town of Kraków, Lesser Poland, is the principal urban space located at the center of the city. It dates back to the 13th century, and at 3.79 ha (9.4 acres) is the largest medieval town square in Europe. The Project for Public Spaces (PPS) lists the square as the best public space in Europe due to its lively street life, and it was a major factor in the inclusion of Kraków as one of the top off-the-beaten-path destinations in the world in 2016.

The main square is a square space surrounded by historic townhouses (kamienice) and churches. The center of the square is dominated by the Cloth Hall (Sukiennice), rebuilt in 1555 in the Renaissance style, topped by a beautiful attic or Polish parapet decorated with carved masks. On one side of the cloth hall is the Town Hall Tower (Wieża ratuszowa), on the other the 11th century Church of St. Adalbert and 1898 Adam Mickiewicz Monument. Rising above the square are the Gothic towers of St. Mary's Basilica (Kościół Mariacki).

I make lists. They are a form of therapy in themselves … it just feels good to empty my head of the day's to-dos. Occasionally, I mistake that feeling of release with the fact that I actually accomplished something. But then the list is just longer the next day.

Today though my duties required attention so I made myself a deal. Get items 1 - 12 done and then you can go play.

It's a trick I often use with myself - and it works.

Now on to #13. If you need some encouragement … here's a lovely new texture pack ! So awesome always...
