The icy waters of the Sound were slowly receding, softly singing a lullaby as it withdrew, "Return to your warm bed and rest your weary head. Only treachery lies ahead, one false move and you will be dead". I replied, "Thank you Winter waters for your song of concern. I will heed your wisdom". I slipped on my cleats and continued past the rocks still covered in moss and mud.
I went on in. Where everybody knows your name? They didn't know my name. They told me to GTFO their boat.

[Lier, België]: Vandaag konden de reizigers uit de Kempen nog eens genieten van het oudste materieel van de NMBS. Planmatig worden de klassiekjes niet meer ingezet naar Turnhout. Toch werden enkele ritten op de IC Antwerpen – Turnhout en Turnhout – Binche vandaag gereden met drie gekoppelde stellen, die zelfs redelijk vrij van graffiti zijn. Dat is op zich al een zeldzaamheid.
Hier zien we de 972, 987 en 981 het station van Lier binnenrijden als IC 4214 naar Antwerpen-Centraal. Door een spoorwijziging mochten deze oude stelletjes halteren naast een nog oudere goederenloods, die wellicht op lange termijn gesloopt zal worden.

Monica Bonvicini - "She Lies" ,a symbol of Power & Magnificence in the North.A monumental sculpture,in the fjord in front of the new Opera House in Oslo,built out of stainless steel and glass panels that measure approximately 12 x 17 x 16 m. It is a permanent installation,floating on the water in the fjord on a concrete platform which is 12 metres above the water surface.By turning around its own axis in correspondence to the tides and the wind it offers changing views through the reflections on the mirrored and semitransparent surfaces.
"She Lies" was commissioned by Public Art Norway – KORO,
Norwegian National Opera & Ballet and it represents in a visual striking way the shape of an iceberg,as if one would have, by circumstances due to the Global Warming,ended up in the fjord in front of the Opera House.She Lies is meant to be a monument about change,longing and hope.

Candler is an unincorporated community in Buncombe County, North Carolina, United States. The community is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area. This mountain community nestles in Hominy Valley, approximately halfway between Asheville (to the east) and Canton (to the west) via Interstate 40 (about 20 minutes either way). Mt. Pisgah, with access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, stands to the south, Asheville to the east, and Newfound Gap to the north. This image was created from multiple exposures blended together in Photoshop CS6 layers using the "Lighten" blend mode. All exposures were taken with a single Paul C. Buff Einstein strobe with a 22" beauty dish attached to a Elinchrom boom arm and a 3-stop B&W ND filter attached to my lens. The General Lying In Hospital in Waterloo. It is now part of the adjacent Premiere Inn Hotel. "Lying In" is an archaic term for childbirth and this was originally the country's first dedicated maternity hospital. It opened in 1767, moving to this site in 1828 and closed in 1971 as such. It was the initiative of a Dr John Leake whose name is now more synonymous with the open graffiti tunnel underneath Waterloo Station in Leake Street.

Daarna werd naar L15 gereden, en net voor Lier (B) kwam al snel de schone NMBS 981 als IC4235 door richting Turnhout (B), 20 September 2021. De NMBS 820 die er in de ochtend nog aanhing was blijkbaar achtergebleven in Antwerpen (B).

This pretty cosmic cloud lies some 1,500 light-years away, nested securely within the boundaries of the southern constellation Fornax. Recognized as a planetary nebula, it spans about 3 light-years with its shape and colour being reminiscent of a blue robin's egg. NGC 1360 doesn't represent a beginning though. Instead it corresponds to a brief and final phase in the evolution of an aging star. In fact, visible in this image is the central star of NGC 1360 is known to be a binary star system likely consisting of two evolved white dwarf stars, less massive but much hotter than the Sun. Their intense and otherwise invisible ultraviolet radiation has stripped away electrons from the atoms in the surrounding gaseous shroud. The predominant blue-green hue of NGC 1360 seen here is the strong emission produced as electrons recombine with doubly ionized oxygen atoms.
