The photographic gem of the ring road is Jokulsarlon, in southern Iceland, a lagoon filled with icebergs calved from the glacier Breidamerkurjokull (the suffix “jokull” denotes a glacier; similarly, “foss” indicates a waterfall). The lagoon is particularly photogenic around sunrise, when the water is calm and reflects its surroundings like a mirror. More interestingly though, in my view, is that the icebergs eventually float out of the lagoon, down a channel, and into the open ocean. Some of these icebergs apparently have a poor sense of direction because a collection of them can typically be found washed ashore on the nearby black sand beaches. The contrast between the glistening blue ice sculptures, the black sand, and sometimes even a colorful sunset or sunrise sets a wonderful stage for some landscape photography. As beautiful as Jokulsarlon is, one could rightfully spend at least as much or more time photographing the icebergs and iceberg fragments beached nearby. LARGE ON BLACK

Thought i would give this a go, you made it look easy. Its not !

Painting called ”Levitate”, made in 2023 by British artist James Aldridge, now living in Sweden. His paintings create a multifaceted and unique visual world that is loaded with symbols and references to both contemporary and historical phenomena. Aldridge has for thirty years investigated how we represent nature in art. Through an open process of layering upon layer of visual elements, he creates a kind of patchwork where birds and flowers are given a distinctly elevated position. He also uses repetition as a tool to amplify the surface of the paintings and relates to the mechanical and decorative reproductions like wallpaper and fabric design. The title of the exhibition at Vandalorum Art Hall, "Dark Round the Edges", is borrowed from a music album by the band Dark and suggests something just out of sight or not being as it appears to be.

In honor of Canada Day and the Blue Jays’ manager and Edwin Encarnacion getting ejected from the game after complaining about a bit (understatement) of a bad call from the umpire we will show here how to take the high road and just let it slide. You know you have arrived when everyone knows who you are by just using a single name. The likes of Madonna, Beyoncé, The Donald, Hillary, etc. spring to mind. Obviously, our Blue Jay here falls into this category and we will use the moniker BJ for him. BJ is one of the undisputed levitation magi and he and the squirrel take turns at trying to have me spill my Apple Blossom in complete wonderment at their capabilities. ‘Nuff said.

Happy Canada Day!

für Smile on Saturday 25.6

If you wanna run away with me, I know a galaxy

And I can take you for a ride

I had a premonition that we fell into a rhythm

Where the music don't stop for life

Glitter in the sky, glitter in my eyes

Shining just the way I like

If you're feeling like you need a little bit of company

You met me at the perfect time

Sunday morning levitation session at sunrise in Lake Weyba. I took 2 shots one just with the landscape and another of me planking on a tiny chair. The chair was removed with layers in PS.

This is one of our backyard hummingbirds levitating near some blossoms. These hummingbirds move so fast, this was a tough shot to catch.

I was looking through some levitation photos here at flickr and some of them were outstanding.

I googled the process and decided to try it myself.

This was quite challenging as I used a 10 sec self timer. I had to setup the timer and then rush back into position to get this.

This is my first try so not that impressive.

Soft and fuzzy but who cares 😂 …ok me…but I’ll get over it 😁
