... that is what I did. Captured here with the CPL filter on to enhance the moody sky shine down on the leaves and grass.
Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world,
of what is going on in our hearts - and getting rid of certain memories
also means making some room for other memories to take their place.
Let things go.

And the hardest part
Was letting go not taking part
You really broke my heart
And I tried to sing
But I couldn't think of anything
And that was the hardest part
I could feel it go down
You left the sweetest taste in my mouth
Silver lining the cloud
Oh, and I,
Oh, and I,
I wonder what it's all about
I wonder what it's all about
Everything I know is wrong
Everything I do it just comes undone
And everything is torn apart
Oh and that's the hardest part
That's the hardest part
Yeah, that's the hardest part
That's the hardest part

ā«āŖā©ā¬ Please yourself by Ron Gallo ā«āŖā©ā¬
Trying to please everybody
You just let everyone down
Including yourself
Including yourself
Don't wanna be like old oak tree
Spend my whole life helping everybody breathe
Now I'm bench in a courtroom
Everyone is trying to blame it all on me
Don't want to be like the asphalt on the street
Spend my whole life letting everybody walk over me
All the pressure and the cracks
No they're all trying to blame it all on me
Trying to please everybody
You just let everyone down
Including yourself
You've got to please yourself

Let go of your burdens, and free your mind and soul of all worries. For it is written, let go and let God.

"You donāt have to stop loving your deceased spouse in order to find love again."
Alejandra Vasquez
Is this true??
Q. How is it that you never get over losing a child, but you can, apparently, get over losing a spouse?
It's a genuine question but is there an answer?
Letting Go... Sometimes, it's like releasing a balloon into the vast sky. We cling on, afraid of losing what we know, but in letting it go, we allow it to find its own path. Similarly, when we release people and situations we can no longer control, we grant them the freedom to discover their own destiny. It's an act of self-love and trust in life's natural flow. Though it may hurt at first, in letting go, we allow what truly belongs to us to stay close, while making room for new experiences and connections that enrich our journey.
Letting the yard go kinda wild is way better for pics. I know I said that before... but it bears repeating. To myself. And now to you. :-)

Elk of Benezette
Elk, also known as Wapiti or Red Deer, enjoy large populations in North America, primarily in western parts of the United States and Canada. These large relatives of deer are also found in smaller populations in other parts of the world, in protected native groups or introduced populations. Their preference for open woodlands and a range of elevations make many states habitable for elk, though their current range is much smaller than their historical range.
Elk in the United States
The western U.S. and Rocky Mountain regions make up the bulk of the elk range in the United States, though some populations exist farther east. Significant populations are found in Washington, Oregon, California, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico, such as in Yellowstone National Park and the Wyoming National Elk Refuge. Smaller pockets of elk can be found in various Midwestern states, such as South Dakota and Minnesota, and small populations have been established in eastern states including Pennsylvania and Kentucky.

I wanted to make this post about letting go a lens haha. I've owned the Nikkor Z MC 105mm 2.8 VR S for a couple years now and it's an incredible lens but unfortunately I have falling out of love for macro photography and the lens has been sitting in my equipment drawer. I haven't felt like using it and I have only taken a few photos with it this year. Last year I used it a little bit more but not that much. It's a really expensive lens that sits a lot and I think it deserves to be used which is why I decided to sell it.
What I have realized though is my photographic tastes is changing and I think we need to sometimes let things go to grow.
Besides, extension tubes are cheaper for the occasional macro when it fancies me.
Shandi was actually catching the ball yesterday instead of letting it hit her in the head like usual. She did it all of 3 times them walked away. She prefers to catch food.
Letting go of people who have hurt you is not always easy to do. Your spirit cries out for justice, and as much as you want to be vindicated, holding on to that is just poison to your soul. Holding on keeps your wounds open when you need to heal. We have to trust that God will make crooked straight in the end, and find space for forgiveness. It's always easier said than done, but for the sake of peace and sanity, we have to let go.

My Mum visited Schoc chocolates on a trip to the Wairarapa and bought us a beautiful array of delicious treats. The curry and pappadum's block was absolutely mouth watering, I savoured every little piece.
Yay for delicious vegan chocolate, we like it very much!
I don't eat fish but I will be letting this one melt in my mouth. (Frank ate his the day it arrived, I saved mine to take photos and at last I got around to it). I love how pretty the colours are, such pretty edible art.

Many thanks to Sea Life Mull for letting me join them when they went out to do a Shearwater count between Mull and Coll. An experience I will never forget.
I was by a storm water pond when I witnessed a pair of Common Tern harassing a pair of Caspian Tern that came to fish in the pond. At one point, one of the Common Tern was seen defecating on a Caspian while in flight. They did the same to an Osprey that ventured into the pond earlier. I understand that defecating is a common defensive behaviour of Common Terns while nesting and they are observed doing the same on humans who come close to their nesting site. As it happens the Common Terns are nesting on a rocky island in the pond and will go after anything that comes close to their nest. It is a bit late in the season to raise a brood, I am sure these Terns know what is best for them.
