I’ve had this Kenner Leia doll for… almost 6 years now but I never did anything with her cuz her body was too awkward and the one body that fitted her large neck hole was also awkward lol.
But I saw what @whatifchris did with his one and loved the potential he brought out in her. I really didn’t want to deal with the Triad Alpha clone again so I tried acetone shrinking Leia just enough that her neck hole would look decent on a Barbie body.
It took 4 tries to get her down to only having a 2mm gap on the Barbie neck and I probably could get it smaller if I tried for a fifth time but acetone can be pricy if I go through too much lol. Weirdly enough every time I soaked her head in acetone it turned the acetone a bright yellow which is… ew. I also trimmed off the weird neck flap… thing which helps it look less strange when she’s on a skinnier neck.
Anyway she’s on a MTM right now but I really want to put her on a curvy body to better suit her round face but I really don’t wanna buy any more Mattel dolls that aren’t jointed lol.

It's also a test run for a new background piece - a polystyrene aquarium background (cheap expanded polystyrene) I've repainted with house paint emulsion (from little tester pots) for an ice-cave feel.

I'd run into Carrie a few times over the weekend, including at my LUG's display booth, and had a few surprisingly long conversations with her.
She was charming, gracious, spirited, opinionated, hilarious, vital, huggable, and lovely. Every bit the princess.
I was over the moon to have met her, and my son and I are even more grateful for having had the chance.
