Micro, of course...

Second NoVVember 2011 Viper. Those studs count as wings at this scale, you saw them! ; )

Macro shots of my Futuron spacemen untangling some Christmas lights. How do you like my new macro lens so far?

I finally scratched the space ship itch again. This is a one-day creation, a micro (or maybe nano?) scale deep space survey vessel. Finally made use of the Bright Light Orange I've been amassing, too. Also cross-posting this on Instagram. If you like my creations, follow me there, too! www.instagram.com/p/CH_ma1qp1Px/?igshid=1flomk90wi8ff

Brickheadz Vader with the broken helmet.

Modified LEGO 40547.

The squad has grown :) Should be complete now except the secret Spaceship !

Happy Easter!

Egghunt in a LEGO MOC Space Habitat.

Here is another custom Spaceship design. I think the light aqua and orange work well together and am proud of the way i was able to incorporate that windscreen piece.

Just your regular, run-of-the-mill NCS battle mecha. I don't often use brick shooters in my designs since my son stopped being obsessed with the things, but I still enjoy the looks of the old rotary stud shooters, especially in mechs.

I'm calling this color scheme on the Basilisk the "R" or "Type R". I've been seeing this color scheme, or variants on it, show up on a lot of cars. Some are black on gray, without the red, some have a red stripe on black and a variety of main colors (see the "sport" trim on the Subaru Forester). It's a nice look. Funny thing, I tried this with both red fins and black fins, and even though the fins are small, the difference is a dramatic difference in how bright or dark the ship looks overall.

Team United Mars Bases is back into the Galactic Speeder League. While they have competed in both Unlim and B+ classes, they only managed to score a championship title in Unlim. Windrunner is their new B+ class racing speeder to make amends.

A prototype with the code 6851 that would become one of Blacktron II's fastest and deadliest land vehicles.

This version has adjustable antenna, that could shoot high concentrated small laser beams when facing forwards.

Mobile Frame Zero: non-standard space ships :)

A "teaser" image of Nova Team, something I've been running around my head for the past couple of months.

More ideas to come. But overall this is my own little crew of space minifigs I've MOC'd recently and I decided to give them a name and a nifty logo to go along with it. (If you've been following, you may recognize a few of the crew from past photos)

The logo, highly inspired by the much-anticipated Peter Reid Exo-Suit logo, was intended to evoke the feeling of the Classic Space Lego themes of the 80's & 90's but give it a modern flare.

Little by little I hope to take photos of this crew in action all under the Nova Team name. Like the title suggests, Coming (hopefully) Soon...

#MTron Comm. Bracelet

(Scroll through for Video and features)

The new #LEGO #DOTS are #AMAZING & with so much more #durability and #clutchpower than I imagined (but certainly hoped for!)

Thank you @BrickmasterAmy and the @LEGO team for designing a cool new #WearableLEGO line, I am so excited to build more #MOCs with these sweet bracelets!

Special thanks to my daughter for helping me with the photos and video!!! She loves the DOTS, too and we have been using them as communicators and wearing them all day!

Guest appearance by 6870 Space Probe Launcher (1981)

Update of set 894/452.

So many of the really early Classic Space sets were so much more grounded in near-future science than their later counterparts, and the Mobile Tracking Station certainly fits this vibe. At the time I remember thinking the set was a bit boring and ugly, being basically a grey box on wheels; these days its more realistic near-future vibe and clear, recogniseable purpose are part of the charm.

Seeing as I seem to be on an "updated rebuilds of old Classic Space sets" kick at the moment, I couldn't resist.

LEGO Ideas contest entry: ideas.lego.com/challenges/2d3f47a4-66c9-4f41-92ee-87ccc9f...

My submission to an official LEGO contest to showcase music, futurism, and celebrations – thus, this creation encompasses all three. The Moon Rocks are a far-out cosmic rock band with a hypersonic sound totally out of this world!

This is based off a concept I tinkered with in 2015-2016 which featured a fictional LEGO rock band comprised of astronauts, known as The Highway Stars. Only unlike my previous build which depicted the spaceman band traveling in a flying rocket convertible car, this particular new concept features the band performing on a lunar base.

The ground begins with dark grey bricks to give the rocky appearance, which then has a simple structure of light grey to mimic the look of a space station, and uses numerous pipes and tubes for design effect. On the stage you can see the five members, each wearing outfits reminiscent of classic Space minifigures. The audience is a mix of various spacemen from different eras – including M-Tron, Blacktron, Space Police, Uitron, and even a bunch of Mars Mission green aliens. I started working on this in March 2022 and quickly finished the whole project by the beginning of April.

The stage was originally intended to be designed to resemble a giant boombox with cassette player, but instead I utilized the back wall to have a huge JumboTron screen! There weren't many engineering obstacles since the actual base is rather straightforward, but instead the major challenges were obtaining enough 1x1 plates of the proper colors to make the mosaics. The planet earth mosaic was difficult to map out in Photoshop due to my limitations with blue pieces, and I had to use pinks and lavenders instead.

The Blacktron BLB-7

Superfast long-range bomber-looter. With 2 ridiculously big and strong engines, bomb bay, and cargo space.

What do you get when you fuse the Blacktron I Invader with Blacktron II's Allied Avenger?

The Allied Invader.

More than a nuisance than a dangerous treat in dogfights, the Allied Invader is an incredible speedy craft with weak firepower. Due to It's speed, It's not a very steerable fighter and needs broad space to manoeuvre. It's sometimes used as a kamikaze attack, delivering a deep piercing attack that might burst any vessel.

Made around August 2013.

threw a bunch of pieces together and made this small/fun ship.

BMW is Black onto the B+ class of the Galactic Speeder League with the new mx170 hoverbike. It wears the colors of BMW's title sponsor, Red Bantha energy drinks. The layout of the vehicle is close to the classic one with a front wing on a narrow nose and two engine blocks at the rear, but thanks to two air intakes at the front and in the middle under the rider, BMW engineers managed to make the rear part narrower and more aerodynamically efficient, especially with large vertical plates that add stability in medium and high-speed sweeping turns.

Hero shot of the Collectable Minifigures Series 1 Spaceman, sporting his Classic Space logo, and what I thought was pretty cleaver play on words with that infamous Star Trek opening. ;-)

I had a quick bout of creativity and wanted to whip this together. I didn't have my Mark III handy so had to resort to my old Rebel. But as many of you know when creativity strikes, take advantage of it!

My submission to Brickset's Instagram competition to commemorate 60 Years of the LEGO brick, here's my microscale replica of the LEGO Space Futuron massive model "Monorail Transport System!"

I actually owned this set when I was very young, and I've always considered it my favorite LEGO set of all time. Despite growing up in poverty, I managed to get hold of this gargantuan model at age 6: after my parents divorced in 1989, my father moved away and tried to win me in a custody battle by sending me this huge set for my birthday. With my lack of dexterity at the time, I was unable to assemble most of this huge model according its instructions, and instead used the parts to make random space stations and ships. Then at age 7, I used components of the monorail to build a space station MOC as an entry to a LEGO-building contest at our local KMart in Lancaster, PA. I won a t-shirt for my efforts.

When my family moved around a lot in my childhood, I lost many key components of the monorail, and to this very day, only some of the grey tracks and black stanchions survive in my collection. Eventually some day I plan on installing this monorail to travel around the perimeter of the interior my house. Unfortunately the grey tracks are incredible rare, so hopefully a 3D printing techniques can fill in the gaps.

As for this particular model/photo: I built this in just a few days, with the major obstacle being the wait for the curved tiles to arrive in the mail. Otherwise, the overall project was rather streamlined. Subsequent challenges involved the photo shoot: the big challenge was shooting it in low light with proper fill light, in order to keep the backgrounds dark and the subject exposed enough. I placed the model on top of a black folding table, then achieved the red glowing background by placing a red spotlight up against a black backdrop. Then I pointed a bright white softbox over the scene, and diffused it with a reflector disc.

I wanted to build something really small after building all those medium and big dioramas (2 still waiting for photo sessions). So at evening few days ago I sit down with bricks. Next day morning I made some final touches and...

My very first space station MOC. I had a lot of purple curved panels lying around and started experimenting. Grape Space Station was born!

I have wanted to build something with teal (aka Dark Turquoise) for a long time. This was my first run. I'd like to use coral as an accent color on a future endeavor, but that will likely have to wait until more parts are available in that color. Got the build done just in time for BrickFair Virginia this year, but not the stickering.

In a questionable design choice, its treads cannot move independently of one another, rendering the vehicle incapable of turning. Although its plans were immediately rejected by the brass, somehow fifteen units were still constructed and deployed, costing over 85.6 Trillion.

Today, two units still remain operational, with all others being destroyed within a month of operation due to various incidents. In only one such incident were enemy forces responsible.

Cliffs were mainly responsible.

A spaceship spacEsHiP SPACESHIP! built as a companion to the Horizon Chariot Febrovery build.

Built around a NinjaGo arcade pod, it features folding wings and seats two minifigures.

Built mostly out of parts from the new Speed Champions Lamborghini (76924) plus the only other olive parts I have (the UFO quarters used for the wings). The highlight of the build for me is the use of Hero Factory weapons as the engine exhaust.

A B+ class racing speeder produced by #Starkindustries for the #Kashyyyk planetary team of the Galactic Speeder League. With engines not so powerful compared to other competitors, this machine is by far the lightest in the class and provides superior handling as well as enhanced driver safety thanks to the rollcage.

in an amazing special effect I visualized the face of a TIE pilot during the flight, and now we know why it sounds like it sounds

Hero shot of Captain Kayden Robert Knight - my sig-fig - with what I think is a pretty fitting line from the one and only Star Trek.

LAPD Officer Cup Cake Brown often spends much of her shift dealing with unemployed and intoxicated spacemen. She simply requests a drunk tank van to haul them off the street.

With the unfortunate discontinuation of their spaceship and base sets in the late 1980's, poor spacemen have had a hard time finding work back on Earth and fill up their time with too much drinking.

These two clowns were blocking traffic on Grey Tile Lane in a heated argument about whether Moebius Silver Surfer or Kirby Silver Surfer is better.

With the Basilisk starfighter, I wanted to try some weapons/loadout variants, like in a SHMUP. This is the level VIII, the weapons on the ship are the same as level VI, the gun drones are retained, and a shield drone is added in front. The one in the original photos looks like it will be level 5. This is the final upgrade I've built, and the last that I had ideas for.

Here is a baby replica of the latest iteration of the LEGO Galaxy Explorer set 10497. It still has the main play features of the original set just down sized. Pop off canopy, steering wheels, opening rear end with boarding ramp, airlock sliding door and last but not least ride on booster engines!

This was a blast to build. And was inspired by the builds @troublesbricking made while I was travelling Europe. While on holiday I managed to track down this squad of space babies so that when I got as soon as I got back from holiday I could get into building this moc.

More table scrap and playing around with smaller elements.

For this re-color of the Basilisk fighter, I used the livery of the Mephistopheles Courier Service, which I've used for several other ships in the past.
