The turret's design came first - the whole thing was just an excuse to use it :)

Built from scrapped Star Destroyers.

Meet Dan Dredge, his family is in the Dredging business. Dans reckons he can take home the race winnings with their high torque dredging sub. Typically used to dredge up reefs and sea floor to gain access to hydrolator crystals, this beast of a machine has got some punch! Best stay out of his way and be sure to avoid getting under those dredging blades they will tear you apart!

This is my entry for #aquajune2025 taking inspiration from the OZ-08MMS Cancer from gundam wing. I first saw it on @liamshobbyroom YouTube channel and loved the design.

Made a couple of improvements to the initial design and now it looks significantly better

1997’s Robo Master, the Big One from the bizarre RoboForce sub-theme!

That neon dome! And all the prints! It’s like a better version the Blacktron 2 pods, but it’s on this weird Beast Wars mecha. And it doesn’t detach to fly off. Bummer.

What does detach to fly off is pretty cool for how simplistic it is: a smaller Unitron Star Hawk II (#1789). A set design from another far superior Space sub-theme.

I don’t mean to hate on RoboForce this much, it looks cool, has tons of prints, neon transparent elements, and great minifigs with leg prints and updated helmet sculpts! All of that is awesome!

But why wasn’t this designed as a spacecraft? It would have been among the best. LEGO hadn’t figured out Mechs in ‘97, but they sure have now.

Final thought, what was the tail thing?

A weapon? A ‘robot’? A charger for the spacecraft?

Biotron ! Bigger/better to comme in this theme ;-)

My submission for the lego idea's contest: Out of this world space builds!

One of my better efforts at building an enclosing cockpit, I think. Not specifically an NCS build, for all it's got a yellow NCS spaceman as the pilot. Just your average two-pronged-spear-wielding battle mech

The set that got me my first blue astronaut as a kid, the little Astro Dasher was also a good source of those triangular girder wing elements.

I was in the mood to rebuild a small Classic Space set, but with so much of my blue and light bluish grey in use on this year's SHIPtember build, it would have to be either one of the blue and white sets or something very tiny. Flipping through Brickset's category of CS sets for inspiration, the Astro Dasher caught my eye.

I imagine it's a small surface skimmer/speeder type vehicle with some limited space capability.

Real Name: Stephanie Brown

Aliases: Robin IV, Spoiler

Identity: Secret

Occupation: High-school

student, adventurer

Citizenship: American

Known Relatives: Arthur Brown (father), Crystal Brown (mother)

Base of Operation: Gotham City

Height: 5'5"

Weight: 129 lbs.

Eyes: Blue

Hair: Blonde

Abilities/Powers: Stephanie is armed only with her martial arts and gymnastic skills. Robin gave her weapons such as smoke bombs to use when he could, and later when she got friendlier with Batman (Starting issue 84) she was able to secure the whole Bat-arsenal, including a Kevlar costume. She received erratic training under Robin III, Batgirl II, Oracle, Black Canary and Batman. She possessed technology that lets her turn invisible, but she abandoned or lost it when she took up the Batgirl identity.

Edit: She was in a relationship with robin III for a long time, but stephanie was knocked up by some dingdong and had to give the baby up for adoption.

Theres a lot I didnt mention, and alot you probably dont care about hearing. :P

I know this custom is not acurate. I apoligize. Im working on making her better.

Last night I cranked out a load of new decals so expect some new figs soon!

Oh yeah, decal by emperorkrulos!

Here's another take on the Basilisk starfighter (I may have mentioned getting hooked on building these). This one was inspired by the La Sirena from Star Trek Picard. I hadn't seen the show, but saw a pic of the ship in an email, and loved the white diagonals on red color scheme. I think this came out well, though maybe photographing it on a white background was a bad call. There's a 1x1 stud spot for greebles on the front of this, and I went through more than a dozen ideas for what to put in that little spot - sometimes, it's the little things.

After I built the inverted color scheme version of this fighter, I caught a bit of a repaint bug. Here's the first of several that I've completed. Dark blue and lime. I've had a WIP SHIP on my build table since before my 11 year old son was born... someday, I'll finish that, too.

Never mind the infallible precision radar guidance you'd need to land a freaking space rocket in an interior hangar accessible through a door barely wider than the rocket itself, interior hangars are cool. I was quite happy with the microscale retro-style rocket, but felt like it needed something more to complete the build; thus the hangar and port facility.

T.O.R.D - Tactical Omnilateral Reconnaissance Droid

Greetings! I want to give this robot some focus. I built it for my first Exploriens diorama in September. T.O.R.D is a swift reconnaisance mech often used in initial observations of a fossil containing site. It is foldable and is often carried on the back of a larger mecha which transports it to the point of interest. When scouting, the droid's many sensors effectively scan large areas in all directions. The green hand hologram is an omni-tool (taken from Mass Effect). Omni-tools are handheld devices that combine a computer microframe, sensor analysis pack, and minifacturing fabricator.

S-Wing Starfighter

A collaborative design project

At first I had no idea how to use dark blue on the S-Wing. I knew I wanted a way for the wings to fold up so that it would have a landed mode. My first idea was to use grey jumper plates and 1x1 dark blue tiles rotated 45º to make a snake like pattern. I abandoned that and used the neon orange with unintentionally referenced the Nexo-Knights theme. I really love the way the greebles on the underside turned out.

One cold weekend afternoon, I was looking for something to do with my three year old in the house. We went to our Lego room, "What do you want to build?", "A spaceship," Star Wars obsessive Elliot answered, "an E-Wing!" I knew that the Lego fan site From Bricks to Bothans held a letter based starfighter contest years before, but I was willing to give it our own try.

During the build I developed our own set of self imposed RULES:

1. The ship has to be in the shape of the letter

2. It must be strong enough for a three year old to play with it without breaking

3. The primary color and cockpit location are chosen by Elliot

4. Any piece Elliot finds (that matches the color scheme) MUST be incorporated into the build

5. What Elliot says, goes. So if he wants a play feature or design element, I had find a way to make it happen

As the project progressed the builds became more and more complex and the rules became more flexible. We finished the letters of Elliot's first name and then he wanted his middle name. During the second set of letters I tried to incorporate more complex play features.

These creations sit in display in his room and he loves playing with them and creating self invented narratives and worlds. Working with him helped stretch my skills and introduced him into the process of design.

All 13 of these ships were on public display at Brickworld Chicago 2019. Please let me know if you saw them there and what you thought!

Finally acquired a couple of these Nexo Knights windscreen elements and decided to build a nice little Ice Planet fighter to showcase one of them. I'm calling it the "Winterspike" because most of the other names that seemed appropriate (Ice Dagger, Snowhawk etc) seem to already be taken.

Something from the backlogs, just a little Blacktron 1 fighter / scout craft. It wasn't the original intent but I think it ended up taking some influence from Carter's Shrikes from 2016.

Adapted from the MAG-1 skycar chassis, this low orbit fighter offers agility and firepower in a compact frame, if only at the cost of pilot safety.

These were each shot on top of a glass pane, while the black backdrop is decorated with Christmas lights. Each of these photos were taken with various aperture settings and different camera positions, sometimes with certain band or crowd members re-positioned.

Happy Halloween from space!

Based on the Russian concept of launching a miniature shuttle from the back of the Antonov. This was eventually built in real-life but unfortunately the external tank was damaged in a move and beyond repair or rebuild.

Built for the preliminary round of Bio-Cup 2024. Theme: Space.

How Spacemen supplement their income...

Ever since I had the privileged opportunity to suggest this cockpit be moulded in the iconic Blacktron I colours, I have dreamed of putting it into a MOC worthy of the amazing 80's aesthetic that the Snow Speeder windscreen just SCREAMS. To me, that's an attack-helicopter with legs a-la Mechwarrior/Battletech - something in the realm of the Marauder/Catapult (Mad Cat / Timber Wolf / Stormcrow / Viper ) variety. Since the amazing set The Force Burner Snowspeederâ„¢ 75414

designed by Daniel Lehmann released last month, and because he graciously outed me as the catalyst for the windscreen's bold look, I have endeavoured to make my retro bipedal Battle Mech. I used a TON of vintage parts and tried to stick closely to the original design language and pattern of the Blacktron I sets. This model is my sturdiest Mech MOC yet! Incorporating dynamic posing, I could achieve this cool pose, and with some supports it could definitely get into a running position. It has working actuators and armor panels that adapt to the shifts in the legs, seats two pilots, and has a winch for them to ascend to the main body from the ground. I am planning to do some outdoor/diorama scenes with SPI getting their comeuppance, but it is an ABSOLUTE dust magnet so I ran to the office for some beauty shots. If you want the whole story of the windscreen, ask me in person. This will be at Skærbæk 2025. I hope you enjoy!!!

This build is Ice Station Icarus on the planet Krysto, inspired by Ice Planet 2002 but using the range of pieces and building techniques now available.

The colour scheme and styling of this build will hopefully be recognisable to any fan of the original LEGO Ice Planet 2002 sets (1993-1994), though I have broadened the colour scheme ever so slightly for my post-apocalyptic Ice Planet setting.

This build features my previously posted KDF-07 Frost Giant Mech and Surefoot TR3 Rover
