Open day at a lavender field near Walderton, West Sussex
If this was taken in France, she would be using a parasol. But it is England, so she has an umbrella (it was raining at the time).
Thank you for Explore!
A wall of Lavender in a garden I past by the other day.
I tried something a bit different by getting down low and taking a photo looking up at them.
The light wasn't quite right so I've done some colour enhancing with PhotoScape.
Comments welcome to whether it's worked or not:
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
This lavender keeps on blooming even though in a few days we are already in November.
Thank you all my friends of your comments and visits. My life has been so crazy lately, all sorts of things have been happening. I don't have the time to take any pictures or visit your photostreams and I feel so bad about it. I really hope things will get calmer soon.
Happy Purple Tuesday and have a wonderful week!
Taken at Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden, Arcadia, California. Thanks a lot for viewing and liking!
I just took the photo, so I would like to thank the operators of the Laveanne Lavender fields northeast of Toronto for a wonderful photo op.
Thanks for looking, etc.:)
Day 114/365
Aaaah lovely lavender.... it reminds me of summer. Whenever I walk past it, or smell it, my mind immediately goes to "SUMMER!"
Sad to see it being harvested soon...
I had a lot of fun AGAIN with the freelensing technique - which is what created this sun burst/leak type effect... the light was actually really flat and dull, can you believe it?!

Saw this this morning after dropping my daughter of for her Duke of Edingburgh awards camping weekend. As I was driving along I couldn't work out why the colour of the field was odd. I usually see this when I'm in France. And only 10 minutes from London!
Lavender flowers are known to represent purity, silence, devotion serenity, grace and calmness. In addition to the flower's significance, its purple color also comes with great symbolism. Purple is the color of royalty and speaks of elegance, refinement and luxury

I was very sick this day. I was anxious to go to a great lavender field, we tried but didn't have enough time to find it.
I, literally, invaded this small property and took some photos! =)
Sigh... I hope I can go back some day and find the great fields.
Happy Thanks Giving!
