The largest airline group operating within South America, LATAM Airlines Group has a major presence at Los Angeles providing wide-body aircraft from their Santiago de Chile hub, a major base of operations for pre-merger LAN Airlines.

LATAM Airlines Chile, or pre-merger LAN Airlines was one of the earliest customers for the Boeing 787, becoming the launch customer for the type in South America. The first examples arrived in 2012 and continue to have examples on-order with the Boeing 787-9s forming the back-bone of their long-haul fleet.

The Chilean flag-carrier operates 10-weekly flights between Los Angeles and Santiago; LA534/535 consistently operates daily with Boeing 787-8s, and is a fifth-freedom flight with Santiago acting as a stop-over for further flights continuing onwards to Lima, Perú. LA602/603 provides the thrice-weekly flight utilising Boeing 787-8s (with the occasional Boeing 787-9).

Currently, LATAM Airlines Chile operates 28 Boeing 787s, which includes 10 Boeing 787-8s and 18 Boeing 787-9s. LATAM Airlines Chile have 4 Boeing 787-9s on-order.

Bravo Bravo Golf is one of 10 Boeing 787-8s operated by LATAM Airlines Chile, delivered new to LAN Airlines 4th August 2014 until becoming part of LATAM Airlines Chile following the merger with TAM Linhas Aéreas on 5th May 2016 and she is powered by 2 Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines.
