I folded them from a new paper called Lokhu paper(it has a very nice texture of animal fur) sizes 24*24 cm and 35*35 cm. I used 2 colors of this paper to get the nice colorchanges.
Diagrams from Tanteidan convention book 19.
This lama design has a 3D shape and the bellly can be closed too.
This great paper(and many other great paper which I will fold from soon)will be available in Nicolas Terry's origami-shop www.origami-shop.com in the Autumn.
The guanaco (Lama guanicoe) is a camelid native to South America that stands between 1.0 and 1.2 m at the shoulder and weighs about 90 kg. The colour varies very little, ranging from a light brown to dark cinnamon and shading to white underneath. Guanacos have grey faces and small, straight ears. Young guanacos are called chulengos.
I met this friendly Buddhist Lama who welcomed travelers, and lived with a small group of his followers high on a remote Himalayan mountain location, overlooking the spectacular Annapurna range in Nepal.
Lamas are spiritual leaders in Tibetan Buddhism, and many are considered to be recognised reincarnations of former monks or lamas.
They belong mainly to two separate sects, denoted by the colours of their hats; ie: the Red Hat Sect, and the Yellow Hat Sect. Lama Tershi, as you can see from this image, belongs to the Red Hat Sect, which is the older of the two. However, the most important lama of all is the Dalai Lama, who belongs to the Yellow Hat Sect.

these are the lama children - they live in the village of ghale kharka.
the little girl is very sweet - every morning she asks me with a hopeful smile "you running?" - an invitation to come and play tag.
her little brother stomps around the sanjana guesthome yard - always around. he can kick a soccer ball a good 40 feet and bellow "gooooaaaaallll!" and fly into the air after contact and flop flat on his back. then get up and do it again. the smile he gave me after i had left ghale khara and returned after a month was one of the best moments of my life.
i sincerely hope that as more of the annapurna region opens to teahouse trekking that ghale kharka will see its share. the genuine hospitality shown to me there, while typical of the impeccable standards of nepali culture, went somehow even farther to a place where i truly felt comfortable and at home.
Kota Lama (translated as old city) is the main hub for public transport in the beachfront city of Kupang. It still retains much of its old building layout and design.
Nasce a Lhasa in Tibet.
He was born in Lhasa in Tibet. He joins the Tsecholing Ghelugpa Monastery in Lhasa, where he lived an older brother. Gompa's specific task was that of the daily ritual celebration at the Palace of the Potala, both for the Dalai Lama and for the Tibetan Government. There Lama Monlam receives the formation of 'Master of Ceremony'. He was in Lhasa when the Chinese invader bombarded Potala. He remains for a few years disguised as a layman and then retires first in India at Dharamsala and then in Nepal at Boudhanath. He then decides to devote himself to meditation following his teacher's advice, moving to the sacred places of Nepal.
Lies Baas 12/05/2014 Today was a very special day!
As one of the biggest surprises I could ever wish for~I saw the Dalai Lama today.
Walking around with my friend Irma, minding our own business we saw people demonstrating against His Holiness in The Hague. So I asked a policeman what was going on. He told me to step into the square of het Binnenhof and have a look!
Too bad I didn't have my real camera with me...but who cares...I saw the Dalai Lama...the only person on my Bucket List!! Honestly..I cried a little.
