I finished college in 1981 and had my first fulltime job. I taught as an elementary school teacher in Kuwait that fall. I went with a classmate from home and new friends who were new hires too. It was the first time we'd been overseas. The world seems like a much different place.

The Kuwait Towers are three towers of reinforced concrete in Kuwait City. The main tower is 187 metres high and serves as a restaurant and water tower. It also has a Viewing Sphere which rises to 123 meters above sea level and completes a full round turn every 30 minutes.

this year is very special to Kuwait. it's been 50 years since the independence of Kuwait in February 25th 1961, and 20 years since the liberation from the Iraqi invasion in February 26th 1991. so the celebrations this year were really amazing and beautiful!!! I'm so glad I got to see it in real life!!!!!!

Kuwait's Ministry of Information Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah speaks at the inauguration of the elections media center. The ministry set up the center to facilitate the work of local, regional and international journalists who will be covering the Feb. 2 parliamentary elections.
