I finished college in 1981 and had my first fulltime job. I taught as an elementary school teacher in Kuwait that fall. I went with a classmate from home and new friends who were new hires too. It was the first time we'd been overseas. The world seems like a much different place.

On 24-26 October Kuwait Finance House, a World Diabetes Day Official Partner, organised a health expo in collaboration with the country's Ministry of Health to raise awareness of diabetes and place focus on how, in many cases, the disease can be prevented.

 

The picture shows some of the diabetes and World Diabetes Day awareness messages that were displayed at the entrance of the exhibition.

Taking off from Kuwait City back to Germany. They say that this city is going to be a huge tourist attraction spot. It looks like a pretty cool city from up here. But not in the dead of summer when temperatures get up to 140 degrees.

.Hundreds of Kuwaiti firemen on Tuesday fought to contain a massive fire in a dump for used tyres, with some members of parliament calling the blaze an environmental catastrophe.Firemen from the national guard, the army and the oil sector joined efforts to extinguish the fire that was still raging 10 hours after it broke out in the dump of more than five million tyres.
