This is the kind of crazy shit you have to go through to keep a bike safe in this fucking city, when what they should do is let the police shoot bicycle thieves on sight.

This must be a very expensive bicycle (and I classify anything over $200 as "very expensive)" or have extreme sentimental value. Or maybe it and public transportation are his only ways of getting around. In any case, this guy not only has the Kryptonite Evolution Series 4 lock (with the orange barrel, 8/10 security rating, $74) on the back, but the top-of-the-line Kryptonite New York (yellow barrel, 9/10 security rating, $98) on the front! He's taking no chances. $172 for 2 bike locks!? That's more than I paid new 9 years ago for the bike that got stolen! That's more than I paid used for its almost exact replacement yesterday! But, sadly, it's necessary these days. I doubt that the casual thief (or even a pro) is going to spend a half hour on each lock with a battery-powered grinder showering sparks and debris to steal this bike.

Cat urine is like kryptonite to your carpet. The smell can linger and it can even cause staining. Not all methods for removing cat urine odor are created equal. Click here to learn what you can do to to get cat pee smell out. goo.gl/7ZqPiJ

Maybe you think that my light is beautiful but honestly I'm like kryptonite and I will destroy you...

I had this idea with the green bulb this night. I wanted to do something dark, something threatening. It's very conceptional in contrast to the rest of my stream which is mainly like a diary. I hope you like it too.

Have a great weekend!

"It's the ring, it changes who you are, it is messing with your brain; Sinestro is messing with your brain!"

"Oh please Kyle, I'm sure I can handle a little power ring."

"Superman, take that ring off immediately, or else!"

"Your just a kid, Kyle, you cannot defeat me!

The front part of the left frame loop is there to make it easy to lock onto things.

I use a tiny Kryptonite Evolution Mini lock. Its small enough for my bag, but as tough as they come.

The material is usually shown as having been created from the remains of Superman's native planet of Krypton, and generally has detrimental effects on Superman and other Kryptonians. The name "kryptonite" covers a variety of forms of the substance, but usually refers to the most common "green" form. Kryptonite is almost the only thing that can kill Superman.

Never used it on him but he cannot eat Bell Pepper without getting violently ill....

This lock was on my old bike, in a holder, but...locked around the frame. I lost the key years ago, so I finally decided to see how tough these stupid things are.

Not sure who the guy is - he reminds me of something from the Star Wars comics, though.

On April 22, 1998 Disney unleashed its newest theme park on the world in the form of Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Whatever you do, don't call it a zoo (they get touchy about that word around Animal Kingdom).

This newest venture marked a departure from what Disney had been turning out in the way of theme parks for many years. Any park banking its success on "edutainment" was bound to have issues, and Disney knew it. Epcot proved it was effectively kryptonite for children, and Disney was challenged to make sure that Animal Kingdom didn't suffer the same fate. In spite of some of it's early preachiness (and some unfair press about animal care at the park)- Disney's Animal Kingdom opened to generally good reviews.

At a cost of nearly $1 Billion to complete, Animal Kingdom was an expensive theme park. In fact, one of the planned 'lands' for Animal Kingdom was eventually cut from development due to cost overruns in the budget. The never realized land was to be called the "Beastly Kingdom" and feature a myriad of rides themed around mythical creatures. The Imagineers who were laid off when the plans were scrapped, were eventually hired by Universal Orlando to build the Dueling Dragons coaster for Islands of Adventure - arguably one of the best roller coasters in North America. Oops.

Animal Kingdom's 500 acres are home to some1700 animals representing 250 different species throughout the park. A ride on the Kilimanjaro Safari will give you a chance to see many of them as they take you through the African Savannah (though the jeeps you ride in will rarely slow down long enough to allow you a good picture. This has led us to refer to this attraction as the "Kilimanjaro 500").

As the Parks perennial Icon, the Tree of Life is truly a work of art in the best Disney tradition. At 145ft, this 14 story artificial tree has the images of more than 300 animals hand carved into it's trunk. The base of the Tree of Life is home to the 3D film "It's Tough to be a Bug". On your way to see the show, you will invariably encounter those holding up the line to stare at each and every one of the animals on the tree. Feel free to push those people to the ground and keep going :)

A good portion of Animal Kingdom's growth came with the opening of Asia in 1999. The Maharaja Jungle Trek - which is a walking tour that features bats, komodo dragons, bats, deer, birds, did I mention bats? The 'bat cage' is just plain creepy, and if you have an aversion to bats the way I do, you'll find this part of the walking tour uncomfortable. The second notable attraction in Asia is Kali River Rapids. If you have trouble finding it, just look for the people going on the water ride wearing big yellow ponchos (to this day I can't figure out why you'd go on a water ride wearing a poncho - isn't just easier not to ride if you don't want to get wet?). As water rides go, Kali River Rapids is okay - like most attractions these days it's a bit too short, and keeping with Animal Kingdom's general preachiness, you learn about the evils of deforestation while riding on machinery and materials that will still be trying to biodegrade in 500 years. Gotta love irony.

The newest Animal Kingdom attraction to grace the landscape in Asia is the incredible Expedition Everest. Opened on April 7, 2006 - the attraction features a two way track system that takes guests forward, then backward when attacked by the mythical yeti that guards the "forbidden mountain". While technically a roller coaster, it's a roller coaster of the Big Thunder Mountain variety - which means it's family friendly. I don't do well on coasters at all, and I enjoyed this one thoroughly.

Dinoland USA is home to another popular attraction that garners long lines and excited guests - of course I'm talking about the McDonalds concession at Restarauntosaurus We travel from all over the country to come to Disney World and eat McDonalds. At least get authentic crappy Disney fast food - you know, the whole "when in Rome" thing. This section of Animal Kingdom park is also host to Dinosaur (formerly known as Countdown to Extinction). This is a fast paced, and somewhat jerky ride that's not recommended for those with back/heart conditions. (For those who have experienced the Indiana Jones attraction at Disneyland, this utilizes the same ride system). While it can get a bit rough, this is one of the better rides you'll find at Disney World.

There are also some unique dining experiences at Animal Kingdom (beyond the McNuggets of course). The Flame Tree Barbecue remains one of my steady favorites. The St. Louis Ribs or smoked 1/2 chicken are both excellent. While the Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom falls under the category of "unique", it unfortunately seems to avoid consistency like the plague. This restaurant is a very 'hit or miss' experience, but it offers the only full table service venue at Animal Kingdom. So, if you want to get waited on for lunch, you have to take your chances. Some advice.... In an effort to keep the animals on a strict schedule, Animal Kingdom normally closes earlier then the other Disney theme parks. Therefore arriving first thing in the morning is usually recommended during peak season. Kilimanjaro Safari and Expedition Everest get long lines very quickly, so be sure to hit those first, or at least get fast passes early in the day.

It should also be warned that Animal Kingdom is, for some unknown reason, the hottest place on the face of the earth. The park is suspiciously devoid of shade, and while I'm all for authenticity in theming - it really doesn't need to be "Africa hot". If you can, avoid this park during the summer season - it's just an unpleasant experience. If you have to go when it's hot - HAVE A PLAN (and lots of water). The layout of Animal Kingdom is such that you're often forced to back track in order to navigate the park. This adds a lot of walking to the list of things to be aware of before going. A good pair of comfortable shoes will be your best friend at Animal Kingdom. You should also be sure to adjust your expectations to get the most out of this park. Most of what you will experience here will have a general message of conservation. While that's a good thing, and worthy of support - some arrive expecting a more traditional theme park experience and are invariably disappointed. It's important to appreciate Animal Kingdom for what it is - do that, and you'll have a very enjoyable time in this very unique park.

I’m very excited about the upcoming Man of Steel movie, and love the costume design. Stll, I couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like a little more classically inspired. So I took the newly released Man of Steel Movie Masters Superman figure and gave him a full repaint that’s inspired by his classic look. I made the reds and blues much more vibrant, and even gave him back his trunks! It has an intricate paint job with lots of washes and dry brushes of various pigments to help really bring out every detail in the suit. I made sure, for the yellow in his emblem and belt, to use two different gold hues to bring out a vibrant metallic look. I also sculpted a little spit curl coming down from his hair, to really drive home the classic Superman vibe I was going for. I also made it so Superman can actually look up now! The standard figure was a dog, in that it couldn’t look up at all, but with a little modification he can now look up to the skies, and looks good in a flying pose.

But I couldn’t just stop there! I also wanted to make some Superman related accessories. I made a few kryptonite rocks for a display, and even made him a kryptonite necklace, inspired by the one Christopher Reeve wore in the climax of Superman the Movie. I know that the kryptonite necklace is pretty specific to that film, but I dig it so much I couldn’t help but throw one in for this Man of Steel custom. I also made some heat vision blast attachments! I took some Bevmo Martini picks, and clipped off the ends and shaved down the bulbous parts, made some small starbursts out of hot glue on some clear vinyl, and stuck the ends of the picks into them until they cooled down, and painted them clear red. Since I didn’t have a second head to work from, these have to be attached with poster tack, but it works really well and looks so cool!

Now, not only does the Man of Steel have a classic looking costume, he’s fully ready to take on any villain in his way!

The Kryptonite Chevrolet 3100 pickup is a B/Gas drag racer. Many of the rods photographed at the 2017 edition of the Goodguys show in Des Moines were based on gassers, a popular general category of hotrods in the Midwest. These are cars designed to look good inside the conventions of historical gas dragsters, but also to perform well in vintage events and be street legal.

For those who are art aficionados, the man casually chomping his cigar reminds me of figures painted by Phillip Guston, such as the one that appears in Painting, Smoking, Eating.

This is one of my favorite photographs of hotrods and people.

No two chunks of red kryptonite have the same effect. Effects are typically depicted to last for 24-48 hours, after which the Kryptonian in question is always immune to that specific chunk of red kryptonite.

Pre-Crisis red kryptonite is created from green kryptonite that passed through a mysterious red-hued cloud en route to Earth. In post-Crisis continuity, red kryptonite first appears as an artificial construct of Mr. Mxyzptlk, then as a synthetic variant created by Ra's al Ghul, using notes stolen from Batman.

Superman has suffered the following effects upon exposure to various pieces of red kryptonite: being turned into a dragon, a non-powered giant, a dwarf, an ant-headed humanoid, a lunatic, and an amnesiac; being made unable to see anything colored green; growing incredibly long hair, nails, and beard; being rendered totally powerless; growing fat; gaining the ability to read thoughts; growing a third eye in the back of his head; losing his invulnerability along the left side of his body; being split into an evil Superman and a good Clark Kent; being split into young and old forms (Superboy and Superman); being rendered unable to speak or write anything but Kryptonese; growing an extra set of arms; becoming clumsy; swapping bodies with the person nearest him upon exposure to it; transferring his powers; rapidly aging; multiple personality changes; and having his skin rendered transparent, overloading him with solar power. Red kryptonite has a drug-like effect, causing severe changes in Clark Kent's personality, becoming rebellious, unpredictable and acting purely on erotic and selfish emotions. This red kryptonite requires close contact with skin to be effective.
