Tattoo Snake Design
My design is based on Asian tattoo art. This sketch uses the consistent/traditional shapes, shading and colors that are used for creating their work. The snake is an image that’s extremely commonly discovered in the art of tattooing in Japan. Snakes are mostly featured inside the Japanese tradition of fullbody suits. You would discover snake tattoos to be utilized in mixture with blossoms. In the Japanese culture, snakes are revered and youll find no negative connotations of them. Snakes have been given the symbolic meanings of knowledge and wisdom.

Overshot
Stoneware
For these works I used a variation on traditional weaving designs known as overshot. I am experienced in pottery, but I wanted to expand from single pieces, and to incorporate the space around them. The pattern continues up the sides, then drops from the edge down to the flat surface, connecting the pieces despite their existence as separate forms.
