A close-up image of Lord Krishna, without whom there is no Aravaan and his importance in the hindu culture. Perhaps he is the only reason why aravaanis are even respected a bit in the country side because of the religious background and the relevance aravaani's have in hinduism.

Sometimes i feel hinduism is a lesser evil or a lesser stupid of a dogma compared the the products of abraham and his trity of beliefs but then re-working the math about how cruel and how merciless and how blood thirsty and back stabbing venemous snake of a lot Lord Krishna has been, i beg not to treat hinduism with any consideration. After all, dogma is dogma.

If by this time you are confused why im accusing krishna to be such an ass, you should wait for my next image. The story of aravaan and how aravaanis came into existance because of krishna and his trickery. Its a nice story, i was impressed and awed at the things i learnt, i bet you would too.

This year’s celebrations of Krishna Janmashtami (Krishna’s birthday) was an extended 3-day event, from Saturday through Monday. Each day was filled with hearing the glories of His life, and ways to celebrate the birth of Krishna inside one’s heart, not only for adults, but for children as well. Saturday was marked by a historic 108 Krishna Maha Abhishekams event, and a special evening theatrical production of one of the most important Leelas in the entire Shreemad Bhagavatam: the Leela of Krishna and Sudama. After midnight on Sunday, Gurudev perfomed puja to Bala Krishna and His personal deities, and everyone came for offerings and prasad afterwards. The dancing and singing lasted till just before dawn, and Gurudev came to Monday’s morning prayers for even more singing and dancing!

Lord Krishna is the incarnation of Narayana Himself. Krishna is the Lord of the Universe, the foremost of all beings. He is the primal God, transcendental and original, the unborn and eternal. He is the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Wise men becomes His devotee and always worship Him.

Divine discourse by Lord Krishna is famous as Bhagvad Gita. It is the most popular and well known of all the sacred scriptures from ancient India. Its intrinsic beauty is that its knowledge applies to all human beings and valid in all ages, yes, today as well. Bhagvad Gita tells us that Soul is eternal, it never takes birth, it never dies. Body is like clothes for the soul. Body dies and soul gets a new body. The ultimate aim of soul (atman) is to dissolve itself into the param-atman (God) and a human-being should use his/her body to acheive this goal.

Bhagwad Gita is Bhagwan Shri Krishna. Many (but not all) people felt His divine presence in all ages starting from Dwapar yuga and many (again, not all) people feel His divine presence today as well. Bhagwan Sri Krishna is the embodiment of love. When someone loves God, love becomes divine and life gets a meaning.

Agarbathi :

India has a rich tradition of incense making that goes back millennia. Many Indian incenses have a unique scent that is not found in any other part of the globe. Incense sticks formed around bamboo are known as agarbatti or agarbathi, while other main forms of incense are cones and logs or dhoops, which are incense paste formed into pyramid shapes or log shapes, and then dried. Thus, modern, organized incense-making is intrinsically linked to the Ayurvedic medical system in which it is rooted.

Oil Lamp or Kuthu Vilakku

The lamp has its own special place. It is a form and a symbol of Tej (Absolute fire principle); the lamp leads us from darkness towards light. It burns only to give message of peace and light to the human. This is its greatness. Agni Puran clearly states that only oil or Ghee (clarified butter) be used in the lamp meant for puja and no other combustible substance. According to the Science of spirituality the lamp with clarified butter is more sattvik (spiritually pure) as compared to lamp in which oil is used. According to yogic path of Kundalini Yog there are seven principle chakras or energy centers in the human being. These chakras influence practically every aspect of human being including physical body, mind and intellect.
