I seem to be stuck in flickr's new layout which makes it very difficult to respond to all but the latest 10 comments and makes it impossible to view who "faved" the photo, and when I try to see the contacts photos, I can only see my friends' uploads, I apologize if I do not comment as much, with the new layout it takes at least 3 times longer to do it as before.

The southern gate of Suwon’s Hwaseong Fortress and the historic main entrance of the old walled city, Paldalmun Gate was built in 1794. Unlike the other gates of the fortress, this one is now detached from the city walls and surrounded by commercial buildings and traditional markets.

While waiting to board the aircraft, the sunset settled behind the Korean plane inviting me to wallow its wondrous hues while it slowly sinks into the horizon. Impulse dictated me to take a snap while enjoying the sight of this beauty till it disappears.

[From Wikipedia] Gyeongbokgung (Korean: 경복궁; Hanja: 景福宮), also known as Gyeongbokgung Palace or Gyeongbok Palace, was the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty. Built in 1395, it is located in northern Seoul, South Korea. The largest of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon dynasty, Gyeongbokgung served as the home of Kings of the Joseon dynasty, the Kings' households, as well as the government of Joseon.

Gyeongbokgung continued to serve as the main palace of the Joseon dynasty until the premises were destroyed by fire during the Imjin War (1592–1598) and abandoned for two centuries. However, in the 19th century, all of the palace's 7,700 rooms were later restored under the leadership of Prince Regent Heungseon during the reign of King Gojong. Some 500 buildings were restored on a site of over 40 hectares.[1][2] The architectural principles of ancient Korea were incorporated into the tradition and appearance of the Joseon royal court.

In the early 20th century, much of the palace was systematically destroyed by Imperial Japan. Since then, the walled palace complex is gradually being restored to its original form. Today, the palace is arguably regarded as being the most beautiful and grandest of all five palaces. It also houses the National Palace Museum and the National Folk Museum within the premises of the complex.

Dynamic doesn't quite describe how different Seoul is from day to day -- almost hour to hour. Things tend to get a bit crowded here with all the construction going on. It's a wonder how many businesses can fit, let alone survive.

Little korean kids in Nampo orphanage. The place that is shown to visitors is brand new, the babies and kids are full of life, playing with tons of toys. But this it is not a orphanage like in western countries, because most of the kids do have parents. But parents who do not have enough money , so they put their babies here. That is the official speech. There's a lot of twins, and even some triplets in the orphanage, one more time the official explanation is: when a couple's got twins, he cannot afford to educate them, so government takes care of them...
