The ADAPT Public Consultation Workshop serves as a platform for dialogue

among diverse stakeholders to refine the monitoring and evaluation framework

for mangrove-based ecosystem adaptation to climate change.

Through the exchange of knowledge, field experiences, and stakeholder

perspectives, the workshop aims to strengthen adaptation practices that are

measurable, participatory, and evidence-based.

As climate challenges continue to grow in complexity, resilience is built not only

through action on the ground, but also through our ability to understand,

assess, and learn from the impacts of those actions.

The aim of the NILM Workshop is to bring together all the researchers that are working on the topic of energy disaggregation in both academia and industry. The primary goal is to provide a convenient forum to share common research goals and identify common themes for collaboration.

From 23–25 June 2025, 30 restoration professionals from the GLFx chapters, the GLF Restoration Stewards program, Regreening Africa and K4GWWA gathered at the CIFOR-ICRAF Nairobi campus in Kenya to learn how to strengthen their work through a systems approach that builds bridges between stakeholders across levels and sectors.

CIFOR-ICRAF has organized a one-day training event that aims to disseminate the science-based technique and lessons learned, and to share with the various stakeholders in blue carbon – that is, policymakers, practitioners, the private sector, academicians and researchers, as well as civil society – all relevant technical knowledge related to blue carbon monitoring and development.

Creative Force by The Swedish Institute turned 10 years this spring. We had the honor of being the visual facilitators during the full day dynamic workshop led by Marcus Haraldsson and Henrik Johansson.

The programme has since 10 years been funding projects working with culture and media to strengthen democracy, human rights and freedom of speech in 27 different countries.

Participants discussed through structured creativity, what they had learnt and how the work should develop in the future. Supported throughout the day by visual facilitators Mina Legnered ✏️💛 & Frida Panoussis FridaRit.

And some concrete results came out that have now been distilled into a brilliant report by Marcus:

Our topic? What is KM and why does it matter. It quickly evolved to "what is KS and why does it matter?"

How do we know whether an adaptation initiative is truly making communities

more resilient?

This question was at the center of the presentation by Prof. Herry Purnomo and

Nining Liswanti of CIFOR, who introduced a framework for monitoring and

evaluating mangrove-based Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA).

The framework recognizes that successful adaptation is not measured solely by

the number of trees planted or hectares restored, but by broader outcomes:

healthier ecosystems, reduced climate vulnerability, stronger institutions, and

more resilient coastal livelihoods.

By linking science, local realities, and measurable indicators, the framework

aims to support more effective, transparent, and evidence-based climate

adaptation efforts in Indonesia and beyond.
