" Knowledge raises the low, but ignorance brings down the mighty "

My daughter set these 3 pictures up and I like them very much. She loves to experiment with different poses and dress for this little one and as you can they are pretty cool.

A belated entry for the Knowledge theme. Featuring the marble chute hardware from the RTS module that undergraduates in Computer Science at The University of York are required to study.

The students have to apply their knowledge of real-time systems and software design to enable the hardware to sort glass and metal balls correctly. The marble chute is deliberately awkward to use with only two sensors in different positions, and this means it can be quite a frustrating experience for the students.

(No, that person isn't a student :))

Well it's about time, we are actually having a flood this year.(10/11)

Regular floods in the 50's, 60's, 70's 80's & 90's, then whamo, dead stop.

No floods, not even minor ones since 1993.

This years floods are expected to reach the 1973 levels at least. Possible higher. That's about my shoulder height if I was standing next to the tree.

Just a note, there was one back in the 1880's sometime that was several meters higher then the 56 flood.

I drink coffee every morning, in my house or at some of the coffee places on my way to work .

Sarina works in one of them.

I carry my camera everywhere and Sarina asked me about it ( brand and so and so ), because she'd like it ,and I asked her to let me take her picture and she said OK you can take it now if you want .

Thank You Sarina for being pacient and I hope you like your portrait.

Perilous Knowledge - The Human Genome Project and its implications by Tom Wilkie

May God bless America, we really could use it,

May God bless our toops, they darn't refuse it,

God bless us all, though we've sorely abused it.

Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

Wishing everyone has a safe and wonderful Fourth of July ~

Here's some interesting quotes from a few of our founders . .

"A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader." - Samuel Adams

"Far from being rivals or enemies, religion and law are twin sisters, friends, and mutual assistants. Indeed, these two sciences run into each other." - James Wilson

"If men of wisdom and knowledge, of moderation and temperance, of patience, fortitude and perseverance, of sobriety and true republican simplicity of manners, of zeal for the honour of the Supreme Being and the welfare of the commonwealth; if men possessed of these other excellent qualities are chosen to fill the seats of government, we may expect that our affairs will rest on a solid and permanent foundation." - Samuel Adams / November 27,1780

. .

"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclination, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence."

John Adams
