I didn't know two years ago, when I did a test shot with my 10 stop ND filter, what I would do with it. I ended up with a busy Saturday afternoon motorway completely cleared of traffic. Cool I thought, one for the archives...
Searching for something else I stumbled across this motorway shot and then I had an idea; why not make it look all apocalyptic, so I had another go at doing that.. More layers than I've every used, with some textures for the road, and an inverted faux infra then super desaturated to finish. Then added my favourite stock figure, as a lone survivor heading to who knows where (well, to give you a clue, Junction 16, Stoke on Trent is the next turn off)?

Mr. Know It All
Well ya think you know it all
But ya don't know a thing at all
Ain't it, ain't it something y'all
When somebody tells you something 'bout you
Think that they know you more than you do
So you take it down another pill to swallow
Oh you think that you know me, know me
That's why I'm leaving you lonely, lonely
'Cause baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me
You ain't got the right to tell me
When and where to go, no right to tell me
Acting like you own me lately
Yeah baby you don't know a thing about me
You don't know a thing about me...
Most of you know about me and my Gull Betty. We go everywhere together. It began here in Worthing, Sussex, England in 2004. Our eyes met and it was love at first sight, we had coffee in the sun, shared our life stories and time just flew by. I remember the first time that Betty pooped on my shoulder ... sigh. Below is "our song".
My Gull
I've got sunshine
On a cloudy day.
When it's cold outside,
I've got the month of May.
Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My gull. (My gull, my gull)
Talkin' 'bout my gull. (My gull)
I've got so much honey
The bees envy me.
I've got a sweeter songThan the birds in the trees.
Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My gull. (My gull, my gull)
Talkin' 'bout my gull. (My gull)
Ooooh, Hoooo.
Hey, hey, hey.
Hey, hey, hey.
I don't need no money,
Fortune or fame.
I've got all the riches, baby,
One man can claim.
Well, I guess you'll say
What can make me feel this way?
My gull. (My gull, my gull)
Talkin' 'bout my gull. (My gull)
Talkin' bout my gull.
I've got sushine on cloudy day
With my gull.
I've even got the month of MayWith my gull.
The Lower Rhein or Niederrhein I just recently discovered is not lower than sea level it is just saturated with a high water table and much flooding, but with flooding comes rich silt that acts as an organic fertilizer for those that farm the flood plains.
Pictured here is the real star of mankind moving out of the Medieval times and into todays prosperous age, the horse, pictured here the Draught Horse breed to be heavily muscled and stout to pull the plow without slipping or injury .
Two further innovations the horse collar and the shoe in the 11th century allowed for better plowing which supported population increase in Europe of about 30% this in turn put people in closer proximity in the villages and cities which in turn increased disease opportunities which in the 14th centaur resulted in all the population gains being wiped out by Black Plague.
The farmers in this region worked under a manor system where a landowner would have several hundred acres of land and would found a manor house, church and pastor and then populate the holdings with farmers that would build a house and work several acres each to support themselves,
the lord of the manor and the church but not in this order.
I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 24-70mm 2.8 G2 Lens at 70mm 1/25, f/11 ISO 100 processed in LR, Topaz Denoise, PS (Lumenzia curves masks and DXO Nik Color Efex)

E del luogo dove io vado, voi conoscete la via
You know the way to the place where I am going.

In Bloomfield NJ, out in the yard the sky had a purple hue above the warm hue of the sunset to the west that I captured as I took Mr Snuggles my dog out to do his business. That’s one of the things I love about sunrises and sunsets, you never quite know how God is going to paint the sky at any particular location and at any particular time. - [ ] #developportdev @gothamtomato @developphotonewsletter @apple #excellent_america @bheventspace @bhphoto @adorama @newjerseysunsetskies @newjerseyisntboring @newjerseyisbeautiful @tiffencompany @adorama @omsystem.cameras #sunsets
I know this is a photo of the fall, but I spotted it in my archives from this year, and I just had to post it! I really liked the fence railing. I had stopped at this particular spot because they have a real beautiful barn; but as it turned out, the barn photos didn't turn out very well...but I really liked this random fence! Hope y'all like it as well!

Nature is what we know -
Yet have not art to say -
So impotent our wisdom is
To her simplicity

Also know as: common dormouse
Scientific name: Muscardinus avellanarius
This is the first dormouse I have ever seen, they are very rare in my part of the UK, shame the brambles got in the way and hopefully next time I will get a much better picture, but still really excited just to have seen it.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by, your comments or criticism is very much appreciated, take care, stay safe and have a wonderful weekend my flickr friends 😊

Last sunday my hubby and I drove into the country to get some fresh air since I had been working from home and hence staying inside (as requested) for the most part of that week (now it's already end of week 2 of home office and self distancing).
Spring blossoms blown in the wind and with manual focus - so not completely sharp ... but I like the atmosphere !
Taken with my 'old' analogue Nikkor 50mm AI f/1.8 - wide open:
I finally got an adapter for my Pentax body! So I've got even one more Nifty Fifty, lol ... and was very surprised about the 'cheerful' bokeh character of this one : ))
As always these days: Please stay safe and healthy !!

Bitte bleibt gesund !
You know, the full moon whispered to me that day...

Till we are called to rise
And then, if we are true to plan
Our statures touch the sky

I know it's really not the best shot, but the light was absolutely horrible. This is my first ever shot of this species, and also the first time I've ever seen one for longer than a second.
This species is honestly bigger than I had really imagined; kinda hard to believe, really, where the phrase "skinny as a rail" really originates from ;).
good birding,

“Man can never know the loneliness a woman knows. Man lies in the woman's womb only to gather strength, he nourishes himself from this fusion, and then he rises and goes into the world, into his work, into battle, into art. He is not lonely. He is busy. The memory of the swim in amniotic fluid gives him energy, completion. Woman may be busy too, but she feels empty. Sensuality for her is not only a wave of pleasure in which she is bathed, and a charge of electric joy at contact with another. When man lies in her womb, she is fulfilled, each act of love a taking of man within her, an act of birth and rebirth, of child rearing and man bearing. Man lies in her womb and is reborn each time anew with a desire to act, to be. But for woman, the climax is not in the birth, but in the moment man rests inside of her.”

I know that you've been hurt before and
You hide your face with your disguise
'Cause someone filled your head with lies
But you don't have to worry this time
No, you don't have to worry
'Cause I would never let you down
I will never let you fade away another day
Don't run away, run away

FF-- Silhouette: Went to a play at the U. of Delaware, Newark, DE.....And there she was again, after many, many years, and the thrill was the same.....
A Rock Wren sticks to its wheelhouse, flitting among the outcroppings along the Rancho Viejo trail in Big Bend Ranch State Park, Presidio County, Texas.
What hides under Low tide in Cape Broyle. When I decided to give this image a name, the only thing that came to me was a line from Johnny Cash. It was one of the few cassettes my family owned and was played in the car on drives. We drove everywhere on this island. I don't remember the places but I remember the good times.
I still go for weekend drives and adventures. Last year, I took my favourite trip ever...a road trip around the island that literally had us in the truck for 45 hours, 45 minutes and 22 seconds, not that I was counting! Music of course, is a big part of it and me and my littles have our favourite songs we play over and over! All I hope is that my little girls will someday look back and have those same good memories and feeling that I do about those drives. That, or possibly I've ruined them and they may never want to get in a car again! :-)

Everybody knows.

I know what you all must be thinking. Nothing can be quite that green !!!!! Well he was that green and I could hardly believe he was real . A beautiful bird to say the least and the little touch of orange in the ear area is his ear. When I first saw this I though he perhaps was hurt but that is the way this species is. A wonderful sighting on our recent trip to Ecuador and another first !!
Wishing you a beautiful and blessed evening !!!!

There are nine-million bicycles in Beijing.
That's a fact,
It's a thing we can't deny,
Like the fact that I will love you 'til I die.
We are twelve-billion light years from the edge.
That's a guess,
No one can ever say it's true,
But I know that I will always be with you.
I know I have most likely posted pictures of this bike before but ... well, it's so photogenic! LOL We actually had about 4 inches of snow on Tuesday, the first snow of the season! This bike sits in my yard in a small garden next to the swing. Two symbols of childhood (to me) that are timeless and bring many fond memories. Sadly, most of the snow has melted away already but I have hopes of a repeat before the winter is gone away completely.
Did you know that Parakeets, Owls, Myna's etc.. all share the same kind of home? They nest / roost in holes / hollow of tree trunks that are often created by other birds like Woodpeckers. On this day, we found several coconut trees with such holes in them. And a large flock of Rose Ringed Parakeets was active with some of them in these holes - while others were on the branches nearby.
The spotted owlet had occupied one of those hollows in the tree and the Parakeets clearly didn't like that. So they were continuously making calls and one of them even landed on the hollow to scare the owlet away. The owlet came out and landed on this perch very close - this was around 3 PM. It was sleepy, yawning and had droopy eyes. We felt sorry for it, but didn't disturb the fight and watched from a distance.
Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
