THANKS for being a friend, it's now official I am old, knackered, and going senile, Seen at Margate Cemetary while looking for Gold or fire crests, none was found so you are suffering the above.
Enjoy the Lords day, God bless you all..................Tomx
I posted this shot on my Facebook page, after my visit to the River Bradford, but it was so grainy due to the high ISO for flight shots that I wasn't going to post it here as I only had Lightroom Classic, which was inadequate to clear the noise. However, I discovered last night that Lightroom now had Denoise AI, so having downloaded the upgrade I applied it to the shot, so here it is, a lot cleaner than before.
Thank you for your comments and faves, much appreciated.
Back later, ME has caught up today - knackered
I'd been tracking a female Ring Ouzel feeding in open ground below the Edge with a male bird in close attendance, obviously a pair, but I'd lost track of her as I lay in wait for her to come into view for a shot.
I scanned the immediate area and found this, the male perched up on this heather clump, looking good, so crawled up to get closer, which was quite tricky in such open ground with only clumps of marsh grass, heather and the slightly uneven ground for cover. He must have been sat for 10-11 minutes all told as I closed in as far as I could and then watched him sit quietly looking around, scratch, preen, stretch various limbs, have a little flap and survey his world again, before he decided it was time to rejoin his partner foraging. A super experience.
Thank you for the comments and faves, out all day today and now knackered!
Just think, there will be people down there complaining about the weather.....This is an old shot from a while back, thing is I have nothing new to put on here as I have not been out walking for a while.
We have arrived home and being knackered as we are I guess it is nighty Night from us! Tomorrow is another day and I will start the long road of catching up with everyone :)
Firstly let me apologise for my lack of comments recently. Getting time for a house move and liasing with 'trusted trader.com' whilst various other household issues are going wrong , think a knackered boiler and having to call him back 3 times because he failed to fix it becomes onerous to say the least, a poorly pooch who is now thankfully back on the mend, MOT's and the dreaded 2hr calls to Virgin Media and you get the idea.
How anyone working nine to five gets anything done is beyond me.
Anyway, today's image is one that I'll miss fondly and I suspect the dog will miss it even more fondly.
These days Coffee is my best friend and when someone hands you that life line when you are knackered, it is nice to just relax.

✈️ : Lost Lagoon
Your breath is sweet
Your eyes are like two jewels in the sky
Your back is straight, your hair is smooth
On the pillow where you lie
But I don't sense affection
No gratitude or love
Your loyalty is not to me
But to the stars above
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below
Your daddy, he's an outlaw
And a wanderer by trade
He'll teach you how to pick and choose
And how to throw the blade
He oversees his kingdom
So no stranger does intrude
His voice, it trembles as he calls out
For another plate of food
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below
First let me say I'm knackered as I write this. The photo you see here was taken on a long hike I did today with a friend along the River Wey, near Wisley in Surrey. It was beautiful as we started out in misty conditions and the river couldn't have looked better. The water was flat calm and the reflections were everywhere. So I'm tired but happy in that - I'm glad I did that but I don't want to do it again tomorrow - kind of way.

Due to a knackered knee I am unable to get out with the camera. Here is a capture taken last month of Carn Boel captured from Pordenack Point, Land's End ,

Spirit of the West
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left
These so called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
We arrived in December and London was cold
We stayed in the bars along Charing Cross Road
We never saw nothin' but brass taps and oak
Kept a shine on the bar with the sleeves of our coats
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a week, I've been drunk since I left
And these so called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
Take me home
Euston Station, the train journey north
In the buffet car we lurched back and forth
Past odd crooked dikes, through Yorkshire's green fields
We were flung into dance as the train jigged and reeled
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a week, I've been drunk since I left
And these so called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
Take me home
By the light of the moon she'd drift through the streets
A rare old perfume so seductive and sweet
She'd tease us and flirt as the pubs all closed down
Then walk us on home and deny us a round
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left
These so called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
Take me home
The gas heater's empty, it's damp as a tomb
The spirits we drank are now ghosts in the room
I'm knackered again, come on sleep take me soon
And don't lift up my head 'til the twelve bells of noon
You'll have to excuse me, I'm not at my best
I've been gone for a month, I've been drunk since I left
And these so called vacations will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
Take me home
Previously every time we'd been up Latrigg we'd driven and done the much shorter walk from the car park. We walked up from Keswick this time and for a while it was touch and go if we'd get back down in time with the dog refusing to move at times:)
Thank you to Mr Newcombe of this parish for the unintentional reminder that I should be shooting blossom at this time of year, rather than tramping about on the moors 😆
What a divine morning this was, the hawthorn (or blackthorn!) blossom is just spectacular at the moment. This was my second visit, the previous morning not quite giving me the light I wanted. I travelled there with zero expectations. Forecast told me it was too windy for mist. Fortune certainly favours those stupid enough to go to sleep at 5pm to be up for sunrise 😂
I'll catch up with everyone shortly. Feeling a bit knackered today, went out for a full day of climbing after this. Had a bit of a 'mare when my I got excruciating cramp in my thumb and couldn't straighten it. Not ideal when you're leading 😂 I lowered off in shame.
About the only location I could manage for sunset after being on the hill all day 😆 Far too many photos of this place in my photostream already. You know where it is.
Been to see the Rheumatology specialist today, and I've got the Cardio specialist next week, I thought it's about time I undated my passport picture, haha 😬😜..........
In case you ask, I'm sorry but I do not participate in commenting groups, but I'm always grateful for your visits and would like to thank you now for stopping by, and any comments you may leave. Much appreciated, John...

It was an early start to walk up Mount Shade and Clachnaben in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. This is a view of Clachnaben from the top Mount Shade while we were drinking our coffee and hot chocolate combo! I was knackered even though we still had a good few hours walking left. Even more knackered watching a trail runner do hill reps - totally crazy!
For prints and other work see bio.
Belper Cemetary, Derbyshire.
Subzero temperatures and a freezing drizzle of rain that, to my knackered retinas, was barely perceptible but showed up clearly in post processing added a sombre layer of interest.
...to Derbyshire?
These are, I believe, abandoned lead mine smelting works as opposed to a knockoff of Machu Pichu. I’m prepared to be corrected.
I tried to get here on Sunday but the place was overrun by ramblers. Today, Monday, totally deserted.
Looks like a great place for a fashion shoot.
It’s an easy walk but not the way I did it, ie climbing up the hillside rather than along the relatively flat trail.
Remember I’m old and my joints are knackered and crumbly ! 😆
I was knackered by the time i got to this point so stopped for a minute to take in this wonderful view
Taken the same morning as the image I posted a couple of days ago after the dog had ran herself into the ground.
If you like this photo please FAVE this photo as it was difficult for me to compose, being in a wheelchair I had to dangle my camera over the railings and just took lots of photos in the hope of catching the subject.
In doing it this way I was absolutely knackered.
Thanks for the kind comments, very much appreciated.
I've been a bit banjaxed these last several weeks again with the M.E. and overdoing things, part helped by the presence of these beauties, so If I don't reply or comment on your pics, this is the reason. I'm just too knackered - sorry.
The guy in the red jacket rode into the shot & apologetically said " Sorry for ruining the shot mate, but I had to stop, completely knackered"
Didn't have the heart to tell him that in that direction its tier three as far as you can see
A zoomed in shot of that sunrise from the top of Pen y Fan. Definitely going to be doing this again when the conditions are right. At this point I was knackered and had been climbing Pen y fan for 6 hours but it was so worth it and was really amazing to watch it rise over the Valleys below.
Working allot lately but will be getting some more pictures up soon :) still have allot from West Wales to get through.
We have finally arrived at our destination in a fjord North of Tromso, Norway. But the flights, drive and ferry transfer have left us sort of knackered So we still have no images from our holidays. Instead I am posting here an image from Iceland from my archives, which feels fitting :)
There was this solitary house in Iceland with all bright right Christmas lights. I took some shots while driving by and this is the startling result, which I confess liking a lot :)
Just 12 days on and winter feels well behind us, I think! At last! Meeting up with friends and sitting in the sun with a drink. Holidays! Things do seem to be on the up. But is anyone left with a bit of a feeling of nothingness? We've been bashed about and sullied: you can't do this, you cant do that, you can't go here, you can't go there, you can't meet ?????, you can't see friends. Orders, orders, orders. We feel numb with it all, depressed, knocked about and shut in a cage. No life.
Well, I'm speaking for others, but am I wrong? We're absolutely knackered with it all? Holidays? I think I would rather just go somewhere quiet and warm and comfortable. To rest and relax my warped mind. The last year has been a shit to Mankind (and women and transgender LBGTQ+Gti Turbo). All of us. But let's not forget, it goes on for those less fortunate than us.
Anyhow, Happy Fenced Friday HFF Rest and be thankful.
Today's weather was even too much for Fynn ! As soon as he went outdoors he disappeared in a bush where he stayed more or less all day. He only lifted his head when something interesting flew by. Butterflies and other flying creatures were safe today as he was simply too knackered to chase anything. I pretty much felt the same, amost fell asleep at my desk when I tried to get my work done. The thunderstorms which had been in the air all day are gathering around us now.
Clearly the light is the star of this particular show - the light was delightful - the knackered old fence really helps with the foundatio of this scene
Early morning on the Monsal Trail.
Chee Dale, the 3rd walk of our weekend trip camping in the Peak District.
After a couple of days walking we we were well and truly knackered starting this walk. Well worth it though, a proper English walk! Wild strawberries, Raspberries and summer flowers galore! It was nice to just walk and not bother with the camera apart from for this photo.
This is a close up of the lens arrangement of my new (very old) mid 1950s Carl Zeiss Werra 1. It’s a minimalist rangefinder (replete with olive green leatherette) style 35mm camera that I fell in love at first sight with at a local antique shop that seems to have sprung up in a local town.
It may be minimal but it is the most complicated thing to operate ever, and have had to look at so many YouTube videos just to get film into it and shoot a few frames! It seems to wind on but the shutter sounds suspiciously the same no matter what I set it to so it could well be #Outdated or #Knackered
I (eventually) loaded in a 36 exposure film, but with the weather being absolutely atrocious at the moment it may be a while before I find out if it’s a runner or not! It’s the first time ever I’ve had to use a light metre to work out the exposure, even my 1970s Chinon SLR has a rudimentary one built in, luckily there’s an app for that!
...of the sky :-)

Oh, just seen this is Earth Day. Serendipitous, Happy Earth Day to you :-)
Tripod blew over in the wind and the ballhead sheared clean off whilst up on Mam Tor so kinda put an end to sunrise. It was on it's last legs anyway and no damage done to camera or lens thankfully.
Spent a good few hours around Ashopton and Fairholmes which was surprisingly quiet. Stunning morning.
First day back at work after all the ups and downs of the last couple of weeks and I'm knackered.
I've chosen to post another black and white picture, this time of a tree. I captured this a couple of weeks ago during a walk. I love the look of winter trees in black and white, love the atmosphere and dramatic effect.
I am really really bad at posting shots in a timely fashion. I've still got loads of snowy shots, which are now past their use by date 😐 Anyway, trying to improve on that and post in approximately the right season.
I had a day trip to Snowdonia at weekend, mainly on a bluebell and waterfall hunt. I also decided on a short, lowish level walk seeing as I'd be lugging the tripod around, and last time I did a big walk with it (OK, and 3 lenses) I knackered my knee! Thankfully I'm still in one piece.
These are the bluebells that sit on the slopes above Cwm Llan.
Created for TMI's challenge, Those Amazing Animals ... focus on Sleepers, and for Award Tree's "Treatments 2 Squared."

I was returning one evening from a night out with the camera, I rounded the corner and there it was, Hi I'm a chair! So thus I couldn't resist taking a few shots. Initially I was going to drop it into the Monochrome spectrum but, meh, I think it looked better with a touch of saturation to warm it up, give it an Autumn feel. Let me know what you think?!
Well I'm knackered and it's Friday tomorrow, I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)
Image 1 of the life in Autumn series - 'Grey Days'
Insect hustle and bustle is slowing down in the garden now but these guys are still working. Looking at them you know they're approaching their final sleep, knackered and grey (well if bees could be grey these were) but still soldiering on. Still there knocking out another one for the 'collective hive'.
As with all workers (bees & humans) who work at ground level they are the ones deserving the greatest of respect, the very greatest.
How we change in the course of our life is incredible , this morning making breakfast AGAIN , I caught my reflection in the window and as I leaned forward to look at myself I scared the birds away and scared myself lol , how time can change us , unless we see ourselves in a reflection or a mirror we still think we are 16 . young in the mind and knackered on the outside lol .
Met up with Phill a few hours before dawn and lit this fantastic structure sat in the middle of the Warwickshire countryside. Phill did virtually all the work with the drone lighting with me adding the orange glow with a diffused orange torch. A couple of hours later we made our way off to the Photography Show for the afternoon. Knackered!

I’m just staring to get some energy back after my full on 4 days in the lakes last week. It’s been rare for me to get away of late I certainly made the use of my time. Early starts with a couple of hours photography as the dawn lifted, then after a late breakfast a full day in the mountains getting on the tops, not getting back till dusk. So when I landed back home, I felt knackered, but happily no time to rest as my Daughter was home for the weekend so I’ve had plenty of Nonno time with little Jesse my little grandson. I haven’t really had the time to have a good look at my photographs but here is one from a morning photo session that I’m a little please with considering I was only playing with the softness of the morning. Little Jesse is going home today so I must get back and play
