Found these at an estate sale today. 2 1/2 quart casseroles - marked "Salton" and each came with an electric hotplate. According to Pyrex Love site, some of these were made stamped with the Pyrex brand, others with Salton.
Actually found a piece of Pyrex today! A piece pretty high on my wish list no less! :)
Wouldn't this pattern make a great fabric? It looks very Alexander Henry to me!
a little while ago i entered a competition. it said there would be a bonus prize to anyone who sent in a picture of them going cross-eyed, so i did, and although i didn't win first prize, today i was sent these funky eggcups as my bonus.

Of all the wonderful tool makers of the world, Jernbolaget in Eskilstuna, Sweden was one of my favorites. Jernbolaget (or The Steel Company if you prefer the translated version) was much more than a tool maker. The company is mostly known as a large supplier of kitchenware, household items and cutlery. I don't own very much of their products, but the large cast iron kitchen scale is one of my favorites.
Older items normally display the full company name "Eskilstuna Jernmanufaktur AB" or "Eskilstuna Jernmanuf. Aktiebolag", later one's the abbreviated "Jernbolaget Eskilstuna".
The company symbol was an anchor and although it can at times be poorly stamped, it appeared on all their products, even down to the smaller chisels.
I have not sen a greta deal of hand tools from Jernbolaget, so I am uncertain about which types of woodworking tools they actually made.
At a later stage Jernbolaget exported their woodworking tools, some of them under the brand "Anchor". At this stage Jernbolaget also started making hand planes.
I have never seen or tried a Anchor hand plane, so I cannot say whether they were good or not. But the cutter ought to be excellent. The steel made by Jernbolaget was equal to that of Erik Anton Berg.

I bought some new kitchenware today.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw a set of 8vintage Eva Zeisel dinner plates bunched together, I picked them up only to see that they were marked as part of a set of 31. I looked for the rest of the set and found 8 bread and butter plates, 8 saucers, 6 cups, and 2 soup bowls!! A total of 32 pieces!!
I found them at a thrift that I seldom go to. I had dropped off my partner for his bike ride in the mountains and on my way back I swung by and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't even have a basket and must've looked silly trying to manage all of the plates and cups so they wouldn't be snagged in the interim. Maybe they'll have the hostess pieces too... I think that's asking for too much!
