This female Kingfisher landing on the stick with the fish so clearly it was caught elsewhere. Must have been close by as the bird's feathers are still covered in water droplets

Im Ufergebüsch am Hertener Schlossgraben konnte ich die Fütterung des jungen Eisvogels beobachten. Leider behinderten die vielen Blätter aus jedem Blickwinkel die klare Sicht, aber immerhin fühlten sich die Vögel dabei sicher.
I was able to watch the young kingfisher being fed in the bushes on the banks of the Herten castle pond. Unfortunately, the many leaves hindered the clear view from every angle, but at least the birds felt safe.
My friend Kath and I were having a coffee today looking out at my garden when she suddenly said I think that's a kingfisher! I honestly thought she was joking, but sure enough this gorgeous female kingfisher decided to fish in my pond and a half barrel that had afew little goldfish in. Needless to say I can't see many goldfish now. I was wondering what to do with them!!
