Just a week before my company moved me to Florida, I took a trip to Altoona Pennsylvania to visit Horseshoe Curve and the Railroaders Memorial Museum. I didn't have a lot of time or weather conditions to get any satisfactory photos, however I've decided to post this Photo via flickr™ in spite of it's poor quality.

I took this Photo on December 29, 1995 with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 35mm SLR Film Camera with Color Slide Film. I Scanned the Slides to create to create Electronic Images and optimized the photos with both Photoshop™ and Photomatix Essentials™ to correct exposure, saturation and sharpness.
DISCLAIMER: I took this slide in the in December 1995, while I was just learning Photography just before I moved to Florida. Unfortunately the conditions at that time were not very conducive to photography due to the Extremely High contrast of the scene. Consequently the Color Slide Film, which I used could not handle the extreme contrast range. This resulted in very poor Exposure, Composition and Sharpness. I've utilized Photoshop Elements 10™ & Photomatix Essentials 4.0.1™ to optimized the scan of my Slide to the best of my ability..
This is a re-release on my original image posted back in October 2010.
As with most things, new knowledge, software and techniques lead to another creation!
In this case -
Adobe Camera Raw - Some Noise Reduction and Sharpening (Round 1)
Photomatix Pro - Single Image Tone Map
Photoshop CS5 - Everything else...

When my son was young, quite often, my Wife & I would take my son to various attractions in Pennsylvania. During one of our visits to the Strasburg Railroad and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, Pennsylvania, I took these Photos of Pennsylvania Railroad GG-1 4800, GG-1 4935 and AMTRAK (Former PRR) E-44 502. The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania is across the road from the Strasburg Railroad.
This photo shows Electric Locomotive Amtrak E-44 Number 502 (Former PRR 4465) on the Turntable. Unfortunately, I took this photo through a Chain Link Fence, which shows out of focus in this Photo. This was the last E44, built by GE in 1963.
I took these photos with my Minolta Maxxim 5000 35mm SLR Film Camera on December 18, 1995 with Color Slide Film. I Scanned the Slide to create the Electronic Image presented here on the flickr™ site, using Photo Shop™ to improved the Exposure and Sharpness.

North Central Pennsylvania has undergone some major changes since I moved to North Carolina in 2000. Natural gas is being drilled from the Marcellus Formation. Not sure what these tanks are for.

Finally, a Timber Rattlesnake. I can cross that one off my list of yet-to-be-encountered wildlife. It was kinda funny how I spotted this guy. Actually, he spotted me, and he let me know it. I just randomly stopped on the wide North Trail to readjust a strap on one of my packs. After I planted my trekking poles into the ground to stand them up, I heard the loud and clear rattle. I didn't see it at first but was able to step away from where the noise came from, and then I saw him. Curled up and acting cool, but wary. He only rattled briefly and then just laid there as I walked around (giving about 4 feet of space or so) snapping some pictures. In the end, I think we both concluded that we were not an active threat to each other. I was thrilled!. Cool find.
