I wasn't going to buy these, I wasn't going to buy these, I wasn't going to buy these....then I bought them. Sigh. These are Omamori Danboard keychains, they're based on good luck amulets that are sold at shrines in Japan. Each one represents a different thing which is printed on the back. They come in 5 colors, but there are 8 in a box, so you get dupes (something that annoys me). I of course did not receive a dupe of the money one, but I guess I don't have to worry about study or traffic anymore. The dupe on the love one is OK :-)
I have this Totoro keychain for years. But recently I just decided to open it.
This little totoro is just too cute. He's almost identical with the large one www.flickr.com/photos/blacksmithst/4549666135/in/set-7215..., but cominica did improve him a bit. They make him smile, and the way he's holding the umbrella is so much better. The colors are lighter on the keychain. Love every single thing about this Totoro.
And like the large one, this little one also got metal stick for the umbrella. Really nice and consistent from Cominica.
After cutting, grinding and buffing the large keyheads, the new keychain is much more streamlined. Compare to the bulk of the before photo.
This is a mini keychain digital camera. It is a mini digicam which was produced sometime during the early to mid 2000s. At the time digital cameras were still farily expensive and small digicams like this allowed people to get their feet wet in digital photography without spending alot of money. Technically it is an early 2000s camera phone, without the phone.
Like most mini digicams of the era the picture quality is farily lackluster. The resolution is about 0.3MP which produces a rather grainy image with dull looking colours. The camera itself contains 2 megabytes or internal memory (which cannot be expanded). In "high resolution" mode the camera can store 20 pictures, in "good resolution" mode 40, and in "low resolution" 80. To retreive pictures from the camera you would have to connect it to a PC and use driver software to download the images. This software seem to work best with Window XP, and refuses to work on Windows Vista, 7, 8 or 10.
Esta pata es un tributo a la recuperación de Gizmo, el último gatito que rescatamos y que pensamos que no sobreviviría.
Found this key chain smiling up at me as I searched through our miscellaneous basket of stuff.

I'm tired of my keys jangling in my pocket, so I created a multi-tool keychain using a Crank Brother's M5 bicycle tool. It fits five keys on one side and a M3, M4 and #2 phillips on the other side. I've cut off of the excess portions of the keys to make it even cleaner, as you can see in the after photo.
Other makers have had the same idea.
This is my Sanrio keychain collection. There aren't really that many but what they lack in size they sure make up for in cuteness! The black Chococat at the bottom right hand corner is the one i use everyday for my keys and he goes everywhere with me : ). The rest are just displayed in various places around my room.
