These were given to U.S. LEGO employees in observance of LEGO being awarded "Toy of the Century." I remember the "Toy of the Century" award being referenced in late 90s LEGO advertising, but never saw the keychain.
I checked BrickLink and couldn't find any, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.
Yet another keychain with screwed-in chain attachment, but chain and bricks support the plausibility of vintage origin. All bricks with side pip, Pat. Pend. obscured/erased.

Odeco keychain part 3 I customized as me. I bought this one beacuse she has the same hair color and style I have.
I made her a new dress and repainted her eyes (even if mine are not so dark and bright! XD )
Her original dress was cute but I never wear something red! >_<
I love those keychains as they're of the same size and chibi style of the ones I make in polymer clay but they have "real" hair and clothes. *-*

I hold a rubber pad thing in each fist to give me a better grip.
I hold the minfig in my left hand, and the pliers in my right.
That is where I grab the paperclip with my particular pair of pliers.
The paperclip will deform a bit during the pulling process. So, you may need to experiment with your particular pair of pliers to see just how / where to grab the clip (so that it does not completely open up and cause your hand to go flying when you pull hard on it).
The last known Classic Space keychain* still missing in my collection - finally found this week (as a bundle of the pictured three 1978/79 keychains) on an online marketplace. Yay! 💪

The firefighter had a metal cramp attachment on the top of the hat, carefully torn out of this figure by a previous owner.
