Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic waits to receive serve on court 2 at the Sony Ericsson Open on Key Biscayne. Once the top female player in the world, since winning the French Open in 2008 she has tumbled to #58 in the standings.

I have seen this scene countless of times over many years on stops at the park during my bike rides. I always loved this particular framing. Unfortunately those rides are mostly early in the morning. This scene, as I see it, only looks this pretty, for a short period of time, in the late afternoon. I like the contrast.
A few time I have tried to shoot it. Either I have people moving in and out of my frame or the weather doesn't cooperate. You have to shoot this scene over a long walkway (not in the picture) in order to frame the lifeguard station with the palm trees.

On my last bike ride I brought some camera gear along and captured Golden Moment at sunrise.
On my way back home, while crossing over the Rickenbacker Cswy bridge, I had a majestic view of Miami in combination with a beautiful morning cloud formation and the vast Biscayne Bay. With the limitations of being on a busy riding path, at the top of the bridge, I chose this single frame hand-held composition to conway my view. Enjoy!

Eddie Vedder actually did a cover. Original is by Indio. Just as brilliant but I've always had a thing for Pearl Jam and Eddie Vedder's voice.
Anyway, this image is dedicated to my wonderful contacts who sent me flickr mail and posted cheerful sentiments on my stream to get me out of my uninspired stooper. You guys rock. Thank you, thank you!
I'm riding off into the sunset tonight ...happy to get away for spring break. If there's wifi at the pool then I'll be on and off flickr. Thanks again for all the support I've gotten this past week.

That poor ranger had to stay on station at the entrance, making sure that the feet of the young women showing up in bikinis were completely sand-free.
Looked like a boring job but he manged to find a way to amuse himself, I guess.
