Sometimes the notion of having wings and just being able to soar far above all of life's problems seems like an incredible escape. Birdie and I went for a walk this evening, and he seemed very happy to be carried along, never once flying off. We are good friends, and he said he didn't want to leave me down here by myself with my feet firmly planted on pixel earth, so he quietly kept me company in the comforting way that only our furry and feathered friends can. And my spirit soared, and my mood brightened as a result. ♥

In flight across Abberton reservoir. They kept circling round and round trying to find an area that wasn’t iced over! They ended up following the crowd!

This little grackle kept looking for food in snow-covered pines. He's got something in his beak but it looks like snow or icicles. Painterly effects (my own) added, hoping to make the bird stand out more in all the branches.

Thanks For Visiting 🌷

Standing tall, proudly and confident but two of them kept a close eye on me !!

The Bunny kept one egg for himself. For 'Smile on Saturday', Theme: "EGGS FROM CHICKENS & CO".

Black Dragon....that's my "new thing I've tried" today. I kept hearing about it and was curious about the "fantastic shadow abilities"...ok, I'm exaggerating, no one said that, but it's the impression I got lol. I have to say that I think the quality of my image is a little better? maybe? It is different but not hard to use, however, I will be back to my comfy Firestorm as Phoenix when not taking pics.

Anyway...it was fun to experiment with it and I'll probably use it for my flickr pics.

Just my two cents....

Have a great day! ♥

This image was taken BEFORE the boardwalk bollard lights switched on for the evening.

Striving to be creative with my presentations, I lined up the extremely bright setting sun directly behind the fixture to produce the effect of an electric source.

The first house was build in the thirteenth century as a hunting lodge used by the counts and dukes of Gelre. The house was named 'Pauwenburcht' (Peacock Castle) because of the white peacocks they kept there. The dukes of Gelre used to wear the feathers on their helmets.

The present house was build in 1905 on the foundations of a house dating from the seventeenth century.

Staverden Castle is build on the foundations of a seventeenth century house.

At the backside of the house lies a small island in a pond. On the the island you can find the tomb of Eleonora. This Eleonora lived at Wildenborgh Castle, one of the eight castles of Vorden. She had a lover, who went on a crusade in the Holy Land. When he was away, another man wanted to gain her by force. When her lover returned home, he was killed by his rival. Eleonora wanted to escape this evil man and fled to Staverden, where a mighty knight lived, who gave her protection. She stayed there for the rest of her unhappy life, always dressed in black.

After her death she was buried on the island in the pond. On moonlit nights, the black lady is seen there, walking to and fro on the island, wringing her hands and lamenting about her lost love.

While editing this image I kept thinking of Botticelli's Birth of Venus, a painting I adore. The editing became more painterly and I liked the way it finally turned out. The haunting trees and the snakes seemed to come alive. I love this set. The artistic brilliance and creativity behind this collaboration is just inspiring. ....

" Look out, tell me this is nothing

Something's playing tricks and it's chipping away

I kept swirling is the trouble

Disguised in the paces, they're blocking my way

Calling me

I feel it coursing through the inside

And I can't get away, away inside

I feel it breathing and I realize

The worst is on its way

It is always something

Life keeps throwing things that don't go my way

I'm damned, awful thoughts devour me

All familiar places I can't escape

Calling me

I feel it coursing through the inside

And I can't get away, away inside

I feel it breathing and I realize

The worst is on its way

It makes me sick

But I deal with it

Set it all aside

My confidence overrides

Calling me

I feel it coursing through the inside

Calling me

I feel it coursing through the inside

And I can't get away, away inside

I feel it breathing and I realize

The worst is on its way

The worst is on its way

The worst is on its way

It makes me sick

But I deal with it

Set it all aside

My confidence overrides ... "

Had great fun yesterday on a lonely beach in great conditions. A strong wind kept the clouds changing, and the low early light soon became a gorgeous sunny day. I left with a camera full of fun. No need to explain , by Augustines, is fine, even though I've tried. This is an obvious simple reflection, with a convenient small patch of shadow, blocking out my shadow. If you wait long enough these things happen.

Kept the aperture small for the nice light stars ... would make a nice view to sit and stare at the lights across the river from the white benches that can be seen on the end of the pier just beyond the boat.

I kept telling the officer I am Canadian, and it is allowed, but he would not hear anything... bad boys always get caught.... (do not consume Cannabis and drive!)

What you gonna do when they come for you..

They kept smiling for thousands of years. No cruelty in the world could take it away from them.

This Kestrel just kept coming closer and closer and I just kept clicking away., until eventually I ended up with this

Yes it's unconventional

But I sort of like it!

A very busy summer schedule has kept me away from social media for a while, so it feels good to be able to post a new image again.

I came across this place completely by accident while trying to decide on a future international trip, and immediately knew that no matter where this place was located, I just had to photograph here. Now, this beautiful and unusual beach has instantly been added to my favorite places list. This is one of those locations I could easily photograph every day, for at least a month.

I will include all the details about this magical place in my next post.

The rain kept away for a change ..trudging over soggy moorland in search of a lone tree! Didn't find one but still good fun :-)

This hoverfly kept returning to the same leaf, then moving up into the air near. Got out the trusty 200mm macro (manual focus) and started shooting. Got a few keepers out of the session.

I would like to share with you another of BC's best kept secrets, Finn Slough.

If you ever visit the Vancouver Lower Mainland area , this amazing little community is a must see.

An artist's haven.....

I have been visiting Finn Slough for about 10 years and sadly, I am starting to see more and more decay and rot to this tiny picturesque river side community ( as you will witness in following images ). I will however keep the decay down to a minimum in order to present and preserve the quaint and romantic side.

Finn Slough is a tiny Fraser River fishing community located at the south end of No. 4 Road in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The community has approximately 30 residents who live in wooden houses, both floating and built on stilts, along the marshy river bank. Many of the buildings were built between the late 19th century and 1950s and many have decayed severely, while some have been carefully restored. Finn Slough was founded by Finnish settlers who came to Richmond in the 1880s. Most of these residents made a good living from fishing and became local landowners.

The sleepy and decaying village of Finn Slough has been repeatedly photographed, and it appears on numerous postcards sold throughout Vancouver tourist shops.

Kept this pen holder on a nice India shawl and took this shot.

The shawl had dual color which gave it a nice vibrant colorful backdrop

The holder has an ornate peacock motif !

This Robin kept moving his head around in odd directions-- I'm not sure what he was checking out but he was clearly curious about something.

Kept jamming food into the bark crevises.

Thank you all who fave and comment on my photo'/video's,much appreciated

Two kept approaching me in shadow water, when they decided to take off. Got a few decent shots of them.

He promised he'd always have my back and he has, Thank you

He kept following me around while I was looking for Big Foot in the swamp, saying take my picture, take my picture, so of course I did. They're so cute anyway. I'm sure he was wondering if I wasn't Big Foot and he wanted to remember what I looked like so he could tell his friends about me later.

SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS ALONE!

❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️

7 Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so they might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH! Because JESUS LOVES YOU! ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

I kept looking at this Roseate Spoonbill thinking "something's odd about its coloration".

Most people don't think about a bird's ear, but if they sing they must have ears to hear a song. Birds have no earlobe, and usually the ear is covered up with feathers. This picture clearly shows a hole in the black band behind its eye. That's the bird's ear!

Hogg’s falls are considered one of Grey County’s best-kept secrets. The falls are secluded, camouflaged and yet easily accessible. Named after William Hogg, a first-class Cricketer, the waterfall is situated fairly close to the impressive Eugenia Falls (no good reasons to not see them both!). A lovely hike through the woods and along the river of Boyne will take you to the 7 meter tall falls that has water all year round. The trail continues across Lower Valley Road into a magnificent amphitheater surrounded the the high hills.

Happy Thursday!!💝

kept it from last summer ~

take a deep breath💗

I kept both kittens in my room last night, after observing their behavior for a few hours. I woke up a lot, and there were a few half-hearted skirmishes with lackluster hisses. I think they will become friends, though.

Kept seeing this much-photographed cluster of cypresses on my many drives in the region but ironically couldn't find it when I actually wanted to photograph it. So the next time I saw it, I went for it even though conditions were less than ideal. Val D'Orcia, Siena, Italia.

I kept my passion flower plant indoors all winter and it did wonderful... and now it started growing and producing tiny little buds....

The Ibis kept flying at the Riversone Wetlands (Sugar Land, Texas) late last year, a preliminary to breeding season, I think. And the Egrets and the Herons, too. Pardon the repetition, but I've got to burn through the archives in anticipation of an upcoming cruise (and experimentation with travel photography). Haven't decided between the pocket-able Samsung S23 Ultra and the handy Sony RX100. Stay tuned.

This small Pearl Crescent kept pestering the beautiful Buckeye presumably trying to drive the much larger butterfly out of his territory. She did not seem to be bothered with his advances and kept on getting her nourishment from the few blooms that were around.

I think the Buckeye is a female based on her large size and more vivid coloration. (Male and female Buckeyes have the same ID markers).

Eva ( Gillnetter - fishing boat) was built in 1937 at the Suzuki Brothers Boat Yard as a Japanese–style double–ended gillnetter. She is 29.6’ x 8.0’ x 3.0’ carvel plank construction, cedar over oak.

As pictured, Eva is peacefully moored in front of the Historic Dinner Plate Island School.

I stood and watched these for 20 mins, they kept throwing cones at me :)

The Schachten of the Bavarian Forest are similar to the alpine pastures of the Alps tree-free forest meadows. These free areas were used by the shepherds as overnight accommodation and for breaks. Individual trees were kept on the meadows to provide shady resting places for the animals. These single standing trees have been able to grow unhindered and are often already ancient and shaped by wind and weather. These clearings are especially fascinating because they are the only open spaces in the vast forest area. In the northern part of the Bavarian Forest they are usually named"meadows", while in the area between the mountains "Großer Falkenstein" and "Großer Rachel" they are called "Schachten".

Wijk aan Zee is a small town on the coast of the North Sea in the municipality of Beverwijk in the province of North Holland of the Netherlands.

Due to its seaside location, Wijk aan Zee has become a popular destination among tourists.

Wijk aan Zee is also called the best-kept secret of the North Sea coast. The family seaside resort offers the widest sand beach of the Netherlands by far and it is beautifully located next to the Dune reserve of North Holland. It is known as one of the better surfing spots at the North Sea coast.
