Brockton Point Light Station

A Stanley Park showpiece.
A number of ship collisions in the waters around the point led to the construction of a lighthouse and signaling station at Brockton Point. For a time, Brockton Point had a lighthouse keeper, who served for 25 years starting in 1855 and is credited for having saved 16 people from drowning. The present day lighthouse tower with an automatic light was built in 1914. It was designed by Thomas Hayton Mawson, who also constructed the lifeboat house located below the point and other Stanley Park landmarks.

This shot was taken on the beautiful sim of Sandi Benelli ... I spent probably atleast two hours there and every two feet there is a beautiful place to either just have an aaahhh haaa moment or another shot more beautiful shot then the last one . I fell in love with it .. Sandi thank you so much for giving us a place to snap one beautiful post card after another. It is truly a gift ..and if one does not wish to shoot pictures ..grab your sweetie and just plan on staying a spell because it is truly gorgeous.

The building in view is the lock keepers house at Bratch Locks nr Wombourne on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal .The house is located next to the top lock in a flight of 3 locks......28-05-2016.......mid-afternoon on a beautiful still and warm late Spring day
Deep within the forest fells
a lonely graveyard keeper dwells.
This work to him a sacred trust.
One feared by most and so he must.
As dusk befalls the acres fallow
with axes, hammers, and candle tallow
he gathers what his work will need.
To honor those who've passed his creed.
Great danger waits in starlit night.
Deep caverns filled with foes and frights.
To rest the bones of good folk gone
he'll risk his life from dusk 'till dawn.
With deep holes dug loved ones bereft
stand grieving, quiet. When all have left
the final resting places set
he covers over graves well-kept.

Taking this photograph was a learning experience for me. Seeing this amazing sight, and capturing the moment was so exciting. What I most appreciated about the experience, was how gentle and concerning this gentleman was during the process of removing this immense bee hive from the house. At first I thought, he is going to hurt the bees, but that was not his intension at all. If anything, he was saving it from destruction. Most home owners would have contacted a pest control company, the owner chose to have a Bee Keeper remove it, I was very happy to witness this moment.
