Participants and speakers at this event demanded that BlackRock exclude companies expanding fossil fuel production from its active and passive funds. On a Press Conference held at the New York City Hall steps on February 23,2017; Leaders from the Ramapough Lenape Nation, NYC American Indian Community House, American Indian Law Alliance, American Indian Law Alliance, backed by allies including a wide range of community, environmental and environmental justice organizations, call on Mayor de Blasio as well as Comptroller Stringer to end the City’s business, contracts and pension fund investments with banks such as Wells Fargo, which are funding the Dakota Access pipeline (DAPL).

Over a hundred New Yorkers convened at a public garden inside Trump Tower on May 9, 2017; to host a teach-in about fossil fuel divestment and urge New York City to show climate leadership in the face of Trump’s attack on climate change and the Paris Agreement. The teach-in, part of a global week of divestment action, took particular aim at New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer. Stringer oversees the city’s $175 billion pension fund portfolio and faces mounting pressure to divest from fossil fuels and pipelines.

#NoDapl - Solidarity from Oakland

WHITING, INDIANA, USA -- Sunday, May 15th, 2016. Hundreds of people marched in Whiting, IN (Chicago area) as part of the Break Free global wave of action to demand an end to fossil fuels and a just transition to sustainable energy. Forty-three people were arrested outside the BP Whiting refinery.
