Local Orange County, NY residents - Oscar-nominated actor and activist, James Cromwell, Grandmother and actress Madeline Shaw, and Mother Pramilla Malick began their 7-day jail sentence in Orange County, N.Y. on July 14, 2017; for their action taken at the construction site of the Competitive Power Ventures Gas-Fired power plant in Wawayanda, NY. Seniors in New York City and a coalition of environmental groups led by Third Act NYC, along with allies from XRNYC, Stop the Money Pipeline, Greenfaith, 350NYC, Rise And Resist and many other organizations, held rally and march on March 21, 2023 as part of a National Day of Action to pressure the major banks to stop financing the expansion of the fossil fuel industry. Art build for the Clean Energy march - Sane Energy Arts team were invited to make art for the inFRACKstructure contingent for the March For a Clean Energy Revolution. We have spent many hours having listening sessions from our grassroots colleagues on what messaging needs to be highlighted. Similar to our 50 foot United States of Fracking banner, we worked with legendary graphic novelist Seth Tobocman again to bring to life the story to life in a 13 part piece of art that will be carried high above the march to tell the story of fracking.

A total of 27 multi-faith assembly of religious leaders and lay people were arrested on October 19, 2022 at BlackRock’s headquarters in Manhattan while peacefully and prayerfully protesting the financial giant’s ongoing investment in fossil fuel corporations that are actively destroying the earth. Two thousand people take to NYC streets in solidarity with Standing Rock Water Protectors protesting U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for approving Dakota Access Pipeline and Spectra’s AIM Pipeline, 39 people were arrested in an act of peaceful civil disobedience, confronting the Army Corps by bearing witness in the streets until being removed by police.
Nine arrests were reported at the US Extinction Rebellion (XR), the first major New York City civil disobedience action of a dynamic, bold new environmental movement. A nonviolent action was organized on January 26, 2019 to temporarily shut down Rockefeller Plaza, a prominent New York City landmark to create awareness of the extreme peril of the climate change emergency through a nationwide day of nonviolent civil disobedience and protest. NIGER DELTA, NIGERIA -- Tuesday May 10th, 2016. Demonstrators participate in a Break Free action at Oloibiri Well 1. Nigeria's first oil well was set up in 1956 in Oloibiri and it was abandoned in 1978; the community however continues to pay hefty pollution costs. Neighboring areas where drilling for oil is ongoing continue to experience constant oil spills and gas flares.
Break Free 2016 is a week of coordinated direct actions that target the most dangerous fossil fuel projects, in an effort to keep coal, oil and gas in the ground and accelerate a just transition to 100% renewable energy. Thousands of people all over the planet are putting their bodies on the line to send a message to polluters and politicians that we need to break free from fossil fuels now.
