Karva Chauth, a hindu festival where married woman fast from sunrise to moonrise to praise for longevity of their husbands (4 days after full moon). At moonrise, they dress up in the most beautiful sarees and perform a full ritual involving praying, candles and pouring water over the floor. Everything facing the moon.
Witnessing these beautiful woman, on the top of this Udaipur terrace, was undoubtedly the most spiritual moment I've experienced in India.
In India we have this ceremony called kervachauth once in a year where wife would fast for her husbands long life and progress... She would eat nothing and wont even drink a sip of water and would break her fast only at night by looking at the moon and then her husbands face... the best part is the husband would help her break her fast by making her drink the first sip of water with his own hands... all this is done once she is done with all her prayers in front of the moon.... WELL THATS MY MOM PRAYING FOR MY DAD... amen..
