Rishop is a tourist village in the Lava - Lolegaon Circuit in Kalimpong district. This used to be an inaccessible village with few households and step farming dependent on monsoon rain till tourists discovered this hidden treasure of Eastern Himalaya. The main attraction of Rishop is the serene environment and great views of snow capped Himalayan mountain range from here. The surrounding destinations of Lava, Lolegaon, Pedong, Rishi, Aritar are all within close distance and can be visited as part of a day sightseeing tour. During the initial days, one had to trek about 5 km from Lava to reach here. Today you can drive to Rishop (9 km) through a motorable road from Lava. the village is full of small resorts.

....And a solitary forlorn path
That neither treads nor pauses,
Amidst all random thoughts
I await, with a feeble trust,
There must be one such path,
Which takes to your doorstep;
It is just this bend, where it leaves from.....

Little monks sit out on a break before their studies commence.
The photo was taken in the afternoon with my Nikon FE2 on Fujichrome slide film with a 50 mm lens.
I photographed the slide bracketing it with a Nikon D850 camera and enhanced the picture in Lightroom, Photoshop, and Topaz.
Morgan House in Kalimpong, West Bengal, India was built in 1930's by George Morgan, who lived there till the death of Lady Morgan. Rumours about the spirit of Lady Morgan haunting the house makes the lodge one of the most troubled places in the state.
It's a government tourist lodge now.
