BNSF L-CAL0111-29I drives downgrade through Verdemont behind the quartet of GEs that is normal power for this train. Dubbed the Kaiser Hauler, this road local carries inbound traffic for Kaiser Yard and the road locals that serve it along the San Gabriel Subdivision and surrounding lines.

How big boy Kaiser managed to squeeze himself onto the garden shoe rack, heaven only knows.
Not sure if anyone will see this as my photos are still not appearing in the activity screen even though I reported it over a week ago
As Charlotte and Paige are arriving tomorrow I may not be around a lot until early next week. I have booked tickets to a local theme park for Friday (aggghhhh!) not my kind of thing at all but Paige is a huge Peppa Pig fan and they have a special area for small children dedicated totally to Peppa Pig so I know she will have a whale of a time.
It is Phill and Kaiser's birthday on Sunday and Kaiser decided to celebrate early with his very own vodka (had to buy it when I saw it in Budapest)
Happy Furry Friday everyone!
Wishing you a fun packed weekend with lots of cake
Or chief food tester . Of all our cats, and there have been many, Kaiser is the keenest and the most determined food sampler. Recently he tried to get into the grill of our cooker . We believe he may be eating out too much ......

I was sitting watching TV last night (Phill was working away) when I heard the most awful noises coming from Kaiser. He is very 'talkative' anyway but this was the most dreadful, loud caterwauling. I was just about to get up to see what was wrong when he came running in. I turned to look and there he was proudly holding a 'snake'. If you want to see what this fearsome creature looked like then take a look in the comments below. Pixie came in a couple of nights ago with yet another live mouse. I think Kaiser wants to show me that he too has the killer instinct. The fact that he has never brought in any living or dead creature tells you what kind of cat he is. I have to say my heart melted when I saw him standing, there so very proud with the head firmly gripped in his mouth.
Happy Furry Friday everyone
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

This car which somehow looks like a marshmallow on wheels, is a real rarity, a Kaiser Darrin Roadster. The Kaiser Darrin was an American sports car designed by Howard Darrin and built by Kaiser Motors in 1954. It was one of the first cars with a non-corrosive fiberglass body. Another interesting detail are the sliding doors. When you open them they slide on tracks into the front fender wells behind the front wheels (if I think of the narrow parking lots in our cities I sometimes would appreciate sliding doors on my car too). Only 435 production Darrins and six prototypes were built and those which still exist today have a value of US$ 50,000 - 90,000 depending on their condition.
Kaiser surveying the North Saskatchewan from atop the river bank. We are now all out of black shoe polish.
I was looking for signs advising not to jump into the river from the top of the bank. No such luck. Apparently some common sense is assumed.
This is Kaiser doing his wild look. He often does it when he is using the scratch post but on this occasion he just wanted to show how 'dangerous' he can be. Totally blurry shot but it makes me smile. If I had said boo! to him he would have run and hid.
Nothing planned for the weekend but the weather tomorrow is going to be crisp and chilly so a good time to wander into the Forest, especially as it is going to rain all day Sunday.
Happy Furry Friday.
Wishing you all a weekend of whatever it is that you want
Each day Kaiser feels his dinner is an hour late. He cannot believe how incompetent we humans are ! His face says it all but sometimes he is vocal as well.
Kaiser loves to shove his face and nose into something soft when he is sleeping. He is the only one of ours that does this. I am always amazed how cats do this as it would really irritate my nose. It has turned really cold here with biting winds. Phill text me earlier to say it was snowing where he was near Windsor. Hopefully it won't settle as we are off to London tomorrow to see Mark Rylance in his new play. The play has had mixed reviews but I so wanted to see him. I will let you know how it goes.
Happy Furry Friday
Wish you all an interesting weekend with new things abounding
Once Kaiser makes up his mind he will not be budged. You can see that stubborn look on his face. While changing the bedclothes yesterday he remained hidden for a while , then his little head popped up. Don't think he liked being found out and photographed ! We escaped into the forest locally today for an hour. Unfortunately many other people had the same idea so we came home . We are both back to normal now thankfully after our recent Covid experience
The band's name is hard and heavy, but their well-tried guitar sound is hard and heavy too. These youngsters are great! Listen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXq_wySKJtM

Kaiser need a comforting hand from Astrida as he gets used to Ray's new territory at the back of our garden. Ray's tree house had to come down as our old Mimosa tree had become rotten. His house is now on a converted worktable - much more stable than the tree . It was quite upsetting for Ray when he lost his treehouse and he took to sleeping in strange places but all 's well now.
