A quartet of EMD SD45s lead a Kaiser coal train in Provo, Utah on April 6, 1977. The train was loaded on the D&RGW at the Sunnyside mine in Carbon County and will be delivered by the Union Pacific to Kaiser's Fontana, California steel mill.

We all know Kaiser is a bit of a baby Well he got himself 'stuck' this afternoon. He was up in Kaiser's Castle which as you are aware, Ray has taken as his, so he was obviousl feeling full of himself.

Two other photos in the comments

Kaiser asleep in his south-paw position !

Der Blick von der Porta Kanzel ist nur für Wanderer zu genießen.

Kaiser loves sitting on the stone near our buddha statue. I would like to say it's because he finds peace and calm there, but in reality it is one of the very few stones that will accommodate his large behind.

We have temperatures in the mid 30's at the moment which is very draining as it is humid as well, so we are taking it easy this weekend. Also, I am back to work on Monday after my two week holiday: can't say I am looking forward to it:-(

Happy Furry Friday everyone

Wishing you a peaceful and chilled weekend

Ray is pretending to be asleep as Kaiser has joined him on his king-size bed !

Phill wasn't aware that Kaiser was right behind him as he sat on the sofa last night so he ended up 'using' him as a cushion. Well we all know Kaiser is shaped like a big old bean bag so it's an easy mistake to make:-))

I am sure all of us with furry friends have found them a huge comfort during these difficult times.

On Friday, I had not long got into work when Phill rang to say that Kaiser was very distressed and had huge amounts of drool coming out of his mouth. When I got home he had run outside onto the lean to roof and there was lots of drool still coming out of his mouth. It took an age to coax him down but eventually I managed. I rang the vet and got an emergency appointment, but not until 11.00am. The drooling had subsided a little but he was still very distressed. The vet check him out and said that although his teeth were in good shape, he flinched when she touched one of them. She said that he might have banged it against something (perhaps Pixie thumped him!) Or it could have been he ate something that was mildly corrosive. He was given a painkilling injection and some Loxicom which he absolutely loves. He seems totally recovered now and we are keeping an eye on him for any changes. The vet advised to take him back in a week or two if nothing changes and they will check him out again. It gave us such a fright. I have had Kaiser from 6 weeks old. He is now 13 and has never been ill. Oh his weight is back up to 7 kilos *sigh*

This was me yesterday: I had a dreadful sickness bug and spent the day in bed feeling very sorry for myself. Phill is away this weekend with a friend, so I am going to spend the weekend putting up the decorations and generally keeping busy around the house. It has been pouring with rain on and off all week, so if the sun does come out, then I may venture out into the sodden Forest.

Happy Furry Friday everyone.

Wishing you a happy and germ free weekend

An American automobile company that was far too short lived.

Read more about the Kaiser and hear a little guitar pickin':

It was in the 22 degrees here today and the other cats chose the shade - not Kaiser - oh no he decided it just wasn't hot enough and chose to sleep in the greenhouse where it was probably around 30 degrees

Kaiser is not as keen as Pixie at gardening. He does a little weeding then has to lie down across the path. The tiles make it the coolest place in this heatwave !

Another lovely sunny day. Kaiser has been be spending most of the day just sitting outside in the sun/ We still have very cold night time temperatures but who cares when we are then snuggled down under the duvet

Kaiser has been really under the weather for the past week. He is hardly eating and anything he does it comes straight back up. I took him to the vet this morning and the likelihood is that he has stomach cancer, He has drop half a kilo since his last vet visit two months ago. As he is 17 years old I do not want to put him through anything invasive and the vet feels that is the right approach. She has given him a steroid injection to see if it takes the inflammation down and some meds to line his stomach to see if he can keep food down. But inevitably, I don't think it won't be that long before we have to say goodbye. My heart is breaking

Fifi spends most the time hissing at our cats if they should so much as look in her direction: strange then that she should sleep so close to Kaiser who was already spark out on the sofa. See the difference in their sizes

Like many of us yesterday I was heartbroken to hear of the loss of Regina's Cleo. She was such a favourite on Flickr. Her big round face with those emerald eyes. One look from her and you could tell that she didn't stand any nonsense: she was a cat who was definitely in charge. All of us who loved seeing her on Flickr shall miss her dearly.

A quiet scene at Kaiser Yard on Memorial Day 2016. In a few short hours, that GP60M at the left would be fired up to switch out cars in the yard. The yard here has long been a stronghold for ex-Santa Fe GP60 variants working out their last miles in local freight service.

Ray and Kaiser are fed on the counters. It is quite a jump for a cat of Kaiser's stature so I used to lift him up. This is like lifting lifting weights, so we bought him is own little step. He had just been fed but was looking to see if there was anything else on offer before he got down all together.

Happy Furry Friday everyone.

I have to fast again this weekend, due to my CT scan on Monday. I have asked Phill to cook fish curry for himself as I hate the smell of it and it won't make me salivate and wish for food.

Wishing everyone a happy and safe weekend

La foto de abajo destaca una curiosa característica de este coche: tiene puertas de corredera escamoteables.

If you get the camera out, Kaiser will turn his head and refuse to be photographed. He hasn't figured out yet that the phone takes photos he he he

Happy furry Friday.

Wishing you all a healthy and safe weekend.
