I will post this photo to my both flickr accounts. Those followers who want to see my pics I want to clarify that Kunisaki Izumo account is focused on Kabuki while Kunisaki Izumo Alt account is more freely documenting my other activities too.
And the costume I am wearing.. It is not stage clothing. Neither is hair or shoes but the expressions and poses are from rl kabuki.
In kabuki, the kurogo move scenery and props on stage, aiding in scene changes and costume changes. They will also often play the role of animals, will-o-the-wisps by holding a prop. Kurogo wear all black, head to toe, in order to imply that they are invisible and not part of the action onstage

Imagine these mask in the in the Kumadori (red and blue) makeup. The Aragoto, rough style, is a style of kabuki acting that uses exaggerated, dynamic kata(form) and speech.

It was said that the powerful Warlord promised The Samurai wealth,power and anything his heart desired if only he would help cut down his enemies. Nothing stood in the Samurais path. As Time passed, the Samurai had grown angry and vengeful in his old age, unable to find a worthy opponent who was skilled enough to show him a Warrior's death,
It was said that one night, The Samurai threw himself to the mercy of a Demon God, an became a vengeful spirit, turning on his Master an vowing to destroy his kingdom. for a promise not fulfilled.

My previous post was Terry Eve's interpretation of a photo I put on Flickr of a Dublin office building exterior. I suggested this back-and-forth editing was like performing jazz music... and in looking at Terry's work, I spotted a Kabuki-like eyeball staring at me, which led to this riff...
Few days ago saw Misturu Nikaido's Kabuki mask and really loved the idea. So this is what I came up with.

These dolls were given to my parents by my Dad's employees, when my parents were living in Japan.
