social tote pattern

Irome fabric by Kokka

Made using Sew Liberated's "Mischievous Gnome Messenger Bag" pattern.

Pattern Alterations:

I chose to use ribbon for the pocket trim instead of the pocket band called for in the pattern. I also added velcro as the method to close the flap and made a small pull-tab out of the same ribbon used on the pocket edge. I used corduroy instead of wool for the bag sides and flap.

About the fabric:

The pocket fabric is by Echino for Kokka fabrics.

A BMW M4 wrapped in Dark Gloss Grey!

Client: LpFoil

I really cant get enough of these Echino fabrics.

Measures 58" x 80". I fussy cut the centres for the stars and made them up in random sizes. ( it was fun trying to join them all together! ) The solid fabric is a cotton/ linen in an olive colour. Vintage sheet on the back and a kokka stripe binding.

Mama Owl....the nest is dwindling away.

While I was finishing these, I also worked on some pictures for my quilt, so this worked out well!

Japanese cotton linen blended fabric with cute rabbits motifs.

These fabrics are the starting point/inspiration for my first large quilt. The large flower print is Kokka but the other five are from the Circa 60 Beach Mod by Monaluna for Birch Fabrics set. I fell in love with the fat owl and the trees as soon as I saw this set.

oh, how i crave the seaside!! i wish i could leave the city for a few days and let the sea breeze clear my mind... oh well, very soon (hopefully! for now our beautiful lakes in the city will do). i made a top last week with the warmer and water-filled days in mind. i immediately fell in love with the soft and light chambray (the tiny anchors are too cute!) and after looking through all my patterns (my collection is steadily growing!) i settled on wiksten yet again. i modified the neckline and added a tiny little bit of liberty. now i’m very tempted to sew some colorful shorts next (iris by colette…) :)

some of my fabrics arrived today from Japan, finally!
