i believe in kindness. i believe it can change the world. each act of kindness softens and molds the mood. a smile from a stranger, a card in the mailbox, an expression of gratitude. these bolster our spirits and warm our hearts. and the very best news: kindness begets kindness. it's a full circle of love.
My gosh, this was harder than expected--just the idea of what to take.
There's a lot of terrible things happening in the world now, and people react in harsh ways (including myself), but "the poor you will always have with you" and to reject them is to reject the calling of humankind.
As Thanksgiving is an American celebration, I'm not personally marking the day but family members who are resident over there will be. So thinking of them all getting together and mulling over the possible uncertain times ahead for them, and consequently us.
Perhaps it is an opportune moment to give a thought to how without the help of the Native Americans, all the food the first settlers would have had were five kernels of sweetcorn each.
At this time of year, many families give their children five kernels of candy corn to remind them of the help given and the harmony between the two groups.

Back Story ..................
Remember when Mama was a little puppy and she
would not get near anyone but me ?
In fact it has only been recently she started interacting with other people like my wife and a couple monks.
This is one of her friends, when she sees Mr Monk Mama will run right up and say hi.
They spend a minute rubbing and talking then Mr Monk wanders off through the jungle.
Thought y'all might enjoy this moment of peace and tranquility in a brutal unforgiving jungle environment .................... ;-)
A Big Thank You for your donations.
We are always in desperate need
of funding to help the innocent
animals dumped in this
dangerous jungle.
Thank You.

You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.

Have a great day/night everyone. I was out in the garden weeding the other day and brought a few flowers in the house. Most of my flowers are not surviving the heat, but these are growing like weeds!

The We’re Here! gang is considering random acts of kindness today.
My neighbour was kitty-sitting a mutual friend's cat for a week, but on the second day, he managed to escape. We searched, we called, we put out food, we put up posters, put flyers into mailboxes, knocked on doors. We hired a bloodhound to search for him. We played a recording of the owner calling to him.
This went on and on for three and a half weeks. During that time, I had so many calls and e-mails from neighbours who either had a tip, or just wanted to know if we had found him yet.
On Friday, he befriended a lady two blocks away, and even allowed her to pick him up. I think he knew he needed to be rescued. He had lost 1/3 of his body weight and was very dehydrated.
She called me, I rushed down with the carrier and some treats, and the lady, Colleen, got him to come to her again. She picked him up, we stuffed him into the carrier, and the ordeal was over.
So there were a lot of acts of kindness all along the way. So many strangers helped. I put together a really nice gift bag for Colleen, who was our heroine on Friday.
Today I distributed these flyers to let our neighbourhood know that the kitty is safe and back with his human. He has been to the vet and is on meds right now for a couple of issues. But he is eating, drinking, and being affectionate.
So I guess these aren't technically "random" acts of kindness, but I'm still using this for the theme today. lol
A stressy day !! Thanks Kev for the stress busting present left on the doorstep. taken on Fuji X-Pro 1

Thank you so much for your visits, comments and encouragement! YOUR KINDNESS IS TRULY APPRECIATED!
Went off prompt today because the last thing I want to think about is home. Aggravated with the family, hopefully it'll be a better day tomorrow. Doesn't help that I didn't start this until after 9:30 tonight, so I guess I should be glad it's done. Second in the (now inspirational) series based on day 11 prompt-Secrets of Adulthood!
random acts of kindness . I phone pic. 6 year old Sawyer and mom Jessie from Understory farm in Sudbury delivered flowers to us nurses and patients. How sweet :)) prefer these to roses any day.
Thank you:)
Made my day:)))
