Paper is all around. So first it seemed not easy to make a decision on what to choose. But after some thinking about the theme there were three more important fields than all the others :

WRITING (letters, postcards - I'm a Dino who still loves doing this - diary, shopping lists, little message notes to leave on the table, together with no. 3 important in my job of course...)

WRAPPING (loads of paper have been used to wrap presents for birthdays and Christmas), but more than the first two a third paper theme has played a central role :

READING. From childhood on it has been important to me. So I chose this for MM. Fortunately I had some mini books in my collection that could meet the scale rules.

Lots of fun to all participants. 📃📖️📔💸 HMM 💙💙💙

Looking for light

Making quite clear that Kindles are not welcome in this haven for old books!

We had some lovely light on the third day at sunrise. It broke though a gap on the horizon and lasted for at least an hour. It would be rude not to photograph Hamnøy – the oldest and probably the most picturesque fishing village in Lofoten. A bit more snow would have been nice during our trip but beautiful none-the-less.

Behold the candle, how it gives light.

It weeps its life away drop by drop in order to give forth its flame of light...

Kindle for iPhone is a free download from the App Store.

You can't buy Kindle books with this app. Instead, you have to register your Amazon account via the app then shop via Safari. Once you fire up Kindle for iPhone again, it syncs with your Amazon Kindle account.

Who needs a Kindle now? ;)

Hi! So I really haven't shot any real art stuff in like 5 months so I went out the other day and took this. It's honestly not up the unrealistically high standards I've set up for myself conceptually, but I need to get on actually shooting things, even if it is just eye candy. Most of you like that more anyway, so here ya go.

Also I should probably get on editing some things that I've had sitting around for over a year. And maybe shoot some of those youtube tutorials I've been promising some people forever.

It is an adventure just to even witness the lava flow. But it is all the more intriguing and intimate to follow the lava from the crater to the ocean entry. They make the way thru lava tubes and eventually culminate at the ocean. The lava flow, when it happens, is mostly over multiple days. To get this shot, I planned for the morning twilight, when there is enough light to capture the surrounding and the sun is not yet out, so the lava can be captured in its beauty. Sleeping in the car at the parking lot, helped, but still had to plan for the time to actually get to the spot. Personally for me, it was such a intimate experience, shooting from the water and witnessing the raw beauty of earth being created.

For some reason this reminded me of Robert Frost. And also kindled me to scribble my own (in no way to be compared to that of Frost !!!)

Some say the world will end in fire,

Some say in ice.

From what I’ve tasted of desire

I hold with those who favor fire.

But if it had to perish twice,

I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice

Is also great

And would suffice.

- Robert Frost

Every end is a new beginning

Weather it is fire or ice,

it does not matter -

All that matters

Is finding that end, and beginning new

It is in realizing that you are far beyond

both the fire and the ice -

the beginning and the end.

#108/365 Well I'm not one to rehash old idea, buts a friend came over and brought his new Amazon Kindle 2 e-book reader. It was so sweet that I wanted to take a shot of it and since he was on his way out I thought I'd try this again (I also didn't think the Kindle and a bokeh background would go together). This thing is pretty cool...one of the best features is it has is own wirelss service so you can download a new book from amazon anywhere at anytime! Go GO D40 + Kit lens!!!

(P.S. Amazon if you see this, I'll sell you a copy)

Strobist: small multi LED flashlight

Metroline TEH1224 on Oxford Street working route 139 to Waterloo.

This bus used to support an experimental Kindle style blind which has recently been removed and replaced with conventional, but dayglo, blinds.

TEH1224 was fitted with experimental Kindle style blinds back in Summer 2015 as is seen here on Route 16 when the system was new. However, with technology comes faults as the system developed a number of faults over its time in TEH1224, and for a while the front number section failed so the bus was running around with a number cut from a paper blind stuck in the window, as demonstrated here back in January 2016 with TEH1224 on the 189.

Hemel reikend hoog, onbaatzuchtig,

Een genereus thuis voor natuurlijke symbiose.

Goedaardige reuzen, zonaanbidders,

Toeschouwers bij deze hemelse apotheose.

Of er een morgen is blijft onzeker.

De schaduw van een zelfgemaakte god,

Valt over ze, een oordeel wordt geveld.

Eindigen als brandhout is mogelijk hun lot.

One of two photos taken from my neighbour's window. She looks over the Marina and there is a lot of ice, even beyond where the boats are stored, in the open lake, you can see ice. Brilliant sunshine today but it feels like - 14 C.

I used the sometimes crafter's tutorial and scraps from my scrap bin. I still have to add the velcro dots but I LOVE IT!
