Shot afocal with 10" reflector, a moon is just barely visible peeking around the side! According to Stellarium that moon is Europa but I'm not 100% sure..

Tried to do a little more processing. Think I was able to bring the GRS out a little better without overdoing it. I just need a bit more practice with processing (and maybe some better tools). I also mirrored and flipped this image.

50% of about 6000 frames moderate to good seeing conditions on 11/28/24.

A crop of the first successful picture of Jupiter and its four Galilean moons that I made for our astronomy project. It's great considering that it was taken by focusing on Jupiter with a telescope that's not exactly state of the art (blurry picture to begin with), propping the camera on a stack of books next to the eyepiece (since we didn't have a tripod) and manually focusing on the real image produced by the eyepiece. All this had to be done quickly before Jupiter moves out of view of the telescope. There was also supstantial light polution from the city and the almost-full moon right next to Jupiter.

A carved Jupiter looks down from the West Gate of Falerii Novi, as he has done for the past 2300 years.

For more about Falerii Novi, have a look at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falerii_Novi and www.provincia.vt.it/cultura/etruschi/eng/e_falerii.htm

The Jupiter 8's tape input/output that is used to save patches to cassette tape. Thankfully mine has been retrofitted with midi so I don't have to use it. THE CV output is nice offering pitch and gate - works just fine with my DOTCOM modular.
