I was only able to get up one morning on our trip to take sunrise pictures. Unfortunate rain and arctic blast that sent cold temperatures all the way to Southern Florida didn’t help the situation, especially when I didn’t pack for 30 degree weather.

My morning started off early heading up to Coral Cove Park, in Jupiter, FL. As I get set up along the rocks for some compositions that I wanted to try the heavens open up with a rain so hard that I had to go take some shelter. I did get to try the new rain cover on my MindShift Rotation 180 Pro and I have to say I was very happy with the results. I came back out around 6:35 and the rain had stopped. There were a few minutes of sunrise before the storms just rolled in and the sun never really came out the rest of the day. Still having some time to kill I headed down south to Juno Beach and the pier to take a few long exposures under and around the pier using the Big Stopper from Lee Filters.
After a few shots under the pier which really didn't work since there is a center piling, I went to the side and took shots around 2-3 minutes at ISO 50. Had I gone a little earlier I probably would have been able to get even more movements in the clouds, but overall I was pleased with the results. Photo initially processed in Lightroom 5, Photoshop to remove some people on the pier, and then Silver eFex for color, and back to Lightroom for final processing.

A crab trap submerged in the sand that most likely broke off of the Juno Pier you see in the distance.
