Scarborough is a town on the North Sea coast of North Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire, the town lies between 10-230 feet (3-70 m) above sea level, rising steeply northward and westward from the harbour onto limestone cliffs. The older part of the town lies around the harbour and is protected by a rocky headland.
With a population of around 50,000 Scarborough is the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast. The town has fishing and service industries, including a growing digital and creative economy, as well as being a tourist destination.
Inhabitants of the town are known as Scarborians, or as Algerinos by people in Whitby. The origin of this nickname is thought to come from a ship called the Algerino which sunk off the bay of Scarborough; the locals at Scarborough refused to assist the ship in peril and fishermen took a more dangerous route in a lifeboat from Whitby, to the coast of Ravenscar, in a successful effort to save sailors of the Algerino. In an attempt to rid the town of the embarrassing story associated with the nickname, some inhabitants proposed that Algerino was a promiscuous individual of Italian descent who is supposed to have lain with many Scarborough females whilst their partners were at war.

Yes, I went to see the Foo's at Wembley again (I'm v sad)- this time no camera. Crappy phone pic of the view looking up through the stadium roof, from the standing area.
AMAZING night! Led Zeppelin, Let it Die, etc. That's all.
This was the cover shot (although the magazine cropped it a little more) for the Bite edition in June. It was shot at Harvey Nichols (which you can't recognise) in the Forth Floor (ditto - and the spelling's correct: you can see the River Forth from the fourth floor restaurant) with a professional model (which you can't see). I figured it was a restaurant guide afterall, not a model one.

IIRC, this slide, plus the next two (June_1981_10 and June_1981_11) were taken from the eleventh floor of the Tioga Hall residence hall at the University of California, San Diego.
Taken at about 8:00PM.

On June 15 1896 (Meiji 29), villages and towns were celebrating the return of the soldier who served in the Sino-Japanese War. That day was also the day of the Boys' Festival under the lunar calendar. At 7:30 pm, families were having dinner celebrating the Shinto holiday when they felt a little shock beneath their feet. The cost towns had several little shocks of earthquakes since March of the same year.

my morning is awkward proposals. my breakfast is an example of what's left. my farewell is to a fond friend, forgetting poor fortune. a surefire shift straight to consequences and I am back where I started.
After my mom passed away in 2009, I scanned her very large collection of photos. Some of my favorites are here in my account, and the rest can be found in an account I created for all of her photos: www.flickr.com/photos/ceilsphotos/collections.
At Camp Stanley June 28, Soldiers take part in the Stanley Cup and BOSS Summer Fun event that saw Soldiers from eight different Stanley-based companies take part in basketball, softball, volleyball and tug-of-war competition.
