Before Batman in the comics became an incomprehensible mess that it is now, British scribes Alan Grant and John Wagner wrote some darn good Batman stories after their run on Judge Dredd. Then they did several Batman/Judge Dredd crossovers! The first had Simon Bisley doing the art! With Judge Death! How cool was that?!?
After the Stallone train wreck Dredd (with his removing the helmet, thereby violating the first rule of Dredd 101), Judge Dredd is due for a reboot in 2012 with Karl Urban (who allegedly will NOT remove the helmet). Hopefully, it won't go the route of "three strikes and you're out" Punisher.
But if they ever did a Christian Bale Batman and Karl Urban Dredd...the mind would reel.
"I am the law."

Still waiting for a sequel to that Karl Urban movie...

Heisenberg trying to tempt Judge Dredd. This is 3 exposures with -1+ stops bracketing, then Photomatix for HDR and tonemapping, and finally Photoshop for the finishing touches.

I added some purple bruising under the eyes, worked on the lips some more and darkened various crease lines.
I'm still not sure if the skin tone is right - sometimes it looks great, sometimes it's too orange. It seems to photograph quite well though.
Before I do anything risky or stupid I thought I'd block in the hair so I can see it in context.

I made a rolled/piped collar from round styrene since that was easier and more believable than a tall collar on such a thin suit.
I also filled the inside of the left pauldron with Miliput and formed it against the shoulder so it's a press fit. Conversely the right pauldrom got cut open so that it's hollow underneath, and I made the arm continue up into the space. It's not super tidy in there but maybe better than a blank plate.
Not sure how to add a taper to the neck without attaching the head, which will make painting much harder - maybe I can sculpt it around the neck with the head in place, then break it away and glue to the neck?
