Using Tamron lens 17-50mm f2.8 DI-II. Camera Canon XT. ISO1600 for about 30 seconds. Venus was not as big as in this picture though. The tree was illuminated by light from passing cars.

Snow melt from the San Bernardino mountains help these Joshua trees reach record heights. And they're not even in Joshua Tree National Park, but rather a short drive into the Mojave from Big Bear Lake. You'll probably have this grove to yourself, since it's a bit tricky to find.
