The volunteer project was part of a civil affairs humanitarian outreach into the community during Exercise Western Accord 2012. U.S. service members, primarily Reservists from the Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force are taking part in WA-12 -- a multi-lateral exercise with Senegalese and several Western African nations. The training exercise runs from June 26 - July 24 and involves Armed Forces of Senegal, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Gambia and France.

Malaysian Army dental practitioners participated in a Pacific Partnership 2016 dental subject matter expert exchange alongside the dental team aboard Mercy. During the exchange, the dental providers worked together to provide dental care to local Malaysian citizens. This is the first time Mercy and Pacific Partnership have visited Malaysia. During the mission stop partner nations are working side-by-side with local military and civilian organizations in a search and rescue exercise, civil engineering projects, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges. Coast Guard and federal law enforcement authorities completed a three-day multi-agency operation Feb. 22, 2020 in the U.S. Virgin Islands in support of Operation Full Court Press. This joint operation focused on illegal immigration and narcotics trafficking. Over 15 cargo ferry and passengers ferry were screened with more than 1000 passengers going through check points established at the Saint John and Saint Thomas ferry terminals with the assistance of the Transportation Security Administration.
