PADANG, Indonesia (Aug. 28, 2016) Padang first responders and Tentara Nasional Indonesia medical personnel carry a simulated casualty to an ambulance during a Pacific Partnership 2016 mass casualty drill rehearsal at Imam Bonjol soccer field. The Pacific Partnership search and rescue field training exercise spanned across three locations in Padang and included a water rescue, a field hospital patient for patient triage and transport, and a mass casualty at a local soccer field. The day's events were facilitated by Tentara Nasional Indonesia, local first responders and the Pacific Partnership humanitarian assistance and disaster relief team. This is the fifth time Pacific Partnership has visited Indonesia. Joe Coates, 177th Fighter Wing Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), New Jersey Air National Guard, joins two ends of explosive cutting tape across a row of inert BDU-50, 500-pound practice bombs during a joint render safe operation at Detachment 1, Warren Grove Gunnery Range, N.J., with EOD Airmen from the 177th and the 514th Air Mobility Wing EOD, Air Force Reserve, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., May 1, 2015. The ECT is used to cut through empty and concrete ordnance. Beginning on April 28, 2015, the EOD Airmen retrieved all the ordnance that was dropped at the Range during the past year, and on May 1, 2015, rendered safe – a controlled detonation operation – 30 inert BDU-50, 500-pound practice bombs and two cartridges from BDU-33, 25 pound practice bombs, for later reclamation. Paula Evans, both natives of Canberra, Australia, and assigned to hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) demonstrate how to treat a patient in different scenarios during a Pacific Partnership 2016 post-partum hemorrhage and neo-natal resuscitation subject matter expert exchange at Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan. During the exchange Pacific Partnership and the hospital shared best practices and knowledge on the subject. This is the first time Mercy and Pacific Partnership have visited Malaysia. During the mission stop partner nations are working side-by-side with local military and civilian organizations in a search and rescue exercise, civil engineering projects, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges. Approximately 200 youth, ages 10-15 converge on Camp Ripley, Minnesota in August to attend the Annual Minnesota National Guard Youth Camp. The youth, dependents, nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters and grandchildren of Minnesota Guard members, spend seven days experiencing Camp Ripley and its surrounding environment during the one week camp session.

SUNGAI PINANG, Indonesia (Aug. 20, 2016) Steelworker 3rd Class Kodey Jones (left), from Phoenix, Builder 2nd Class Matthew Spence from Chicago, and Construction Electrician 3rd Class Johnathon Dahman from Atlanta, all attached to Amphibious Construction Battalion One, dig a trench for pipes that will connect to a septic tank for a new public restroom in Sungai Pinang. U.S. Navy Seabees attached to ACB 1, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 4 and TNI Marines are working together to build a public restroom in Sungai Pinang during Pacific Partnership 2016. Staff Sgt. Joe Coates, 177th Fighter Wing Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), New Jersey Air National Guard, cuts explosive cutting tape after laying it across a row of inert BDU-50, 500-pound practice bombs during a joint render safe operation at Detachment 1, Warren Grove Gunnery Range, N.J., with EOD Airmen from the 177th and the 514th Air Mobility Wing EOD, Air Force Reserve, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., May 1, 2015. The ECT is used to cut through empty and concrete ordnance. Beginning on April 28, 2015, the EOD Airmen retrieved all the ordnance that was dropped at the Range during the past year, and on May 1, 2015, rendered safe – a controlled detonation operation – 30 inert BDU-50, 500-pound practice bombs and two cartridges from BDU-33, 25 pound practice bombs, for later reclamation.
