If you are my friend, you know how much I LOVE everything star-shaped. My best friend gave me this to relax esp. during my stressful jobhunting period!

In addition to supporting local community fundraising efforts by donations of coffee, donuts and gift cards for raffles, we annually dedicate a portion of our proceeds to community projects, social service events, and local charities.

For me the title of this piece refers to the setting of goals and striving for them even as some parts of my life are less than perfect. While the job hunting is going slowly, my second love - competitive speed skating - has carried me though and helped me stay focused on my accomplishments and my belief in my abilities. This past weekend was the occasion of a personal best record over 26 miles as well as a 1st place team award. In this area of my life I have thus far reached almost all of my goals.
