So today the Fish starts his trek to find a local job and get some bucks in his pocket. He's pondering the many choices he has. He's looking good for it though! But he came back home empty handed. He did have some tell him to apply online and others said he just wasn't old enough. Oh well... their loss!

I used the Nikon J1 with this and my telephoto, 30-110mm lens. It turned out decent though there is lack of a little blur in the background. But it's a nice compact camera though.

So... yeah, there's been a lot of stuff on my render queue waiting to be posted or finished or polished.

This, again, kinda goes back to realizing in November of last year that everything going wrong devolved down to one simple thing: I needed to quit my job sooner rather than later.

Well, that all got wrapped up a few weeks ago. The whole jobhunting/quitting/getting-guilt-tripped-for-quitting/learning-five-new-technologies-in-a-week/etc. thing. And now I've got a train ride to substitute for the hour I spent in the morning trying to work up the motivation to trapse in to a job that was finding new ways to suck.

But it's also inappropriate to edit pictures, often containing nudity, on a company-issued, company-imaged laptop. For a variety of reasons. Anyway, I got a 12" netbook for a few hundred bucks specifically so I could Photoshop on the train.

I discovered Leandra after I took this picture. But I think calling it "Angeldemon" is appropriate enough..

ah. who invents these things. googled the world of suit (thanks wiki) to discover that it's counter-intutive and backwards to the way girls generally dress ( a girl's accents will be the lightest/brightest point).

Suit world - the shirt is supposed to be lighter than the tie? why?

Working all the angles .

Office building where I will be working.(as of Januar 7, 2008, am working) . This past weekend (Friday - Monday, November 2007) I was in Phoenix for a job interview. I was offered a job in Phoenix and will be moving there in early January.

My current practice in my new home is to wander from room to room. This is the dining room. I like it because I can hear the birdsong and it's handy for cups of herb tea.This does at least vary my sitting position. I don't really want a 'home office' and I wonder why others do, I thought the whole point was to escape from the cubicals. Not that I ever really worked in one. In my last job I quite often worked on the laptop in the classroom store cupboard - that wasn't quite as draconian as it sounds!
