JetBlue 673 arrives from New York Kennedy.

JetBlue, founded in 2000 and based primarily at Kennedy and at Boston Logan, started out by using Long Beach as its West Coast focus city, and also established service at Burbank early on, but did not start flying into LAX until 2010 after continuing expansion of its route network (although a JetBlue aircraft with a crippled nose gear had made an emergency landing at LAX in 2005). JetBlue and Virgin America represent the low-cost options on the LAX-JFK routing, continuing where the likes of Tower Air had left off, and providing an alternative to the established services of American, United, and Delta that are more premium-oriented.

Believe it or not, this is the first time I ever photographed a JetBlue aircraft!

We partnered with JetBlue to set strategy for the airline’s marketing during four years of unprecedented growth – including their being named Advertising Age’s Marketer of the Year.

We were instrumental in establishing the “voice” for JetBlue among customers and – equally as importantly – crew members.
